Funny story: in the beginning Tim turned me down and didn’t want to work with me. I found his articles on first page on Google (about home advisor) and called to meet. He probably didn’t like my vibe. He has been managing roofinginsights.com and just built my personal site dmitrylipinskiy.com, I hate marketers but I love hook agency. Results speak louder than anything. But Tim does annoy me with his hands moving all the time

He was just very careful to not give away his trade secrets, maybe he was nervous too, Dimitry takes no BS and it would be hard for anyone to answer questions and not give away trade secrets in the process. (MHO)

In the middle of the season up here ,. May through September. I did get a good return because I pushed myself and my team harder than ever.
I left out the part that I also paid the seo co. $3500 per week for seo,. Which they did absolutely nothing. And I also paid them 900$ per week for FB and YT \ social media.
They also charged me 35k at the beginning of my contract with them for paid press releases.
8 months later after leads died off and they tried to convince me to maintain my spending. I asked to see my 35k paid press releases.
I got radio silence for 10 days then an email showing 5 articles my 8 year old daughter could have written,. All dated after my asking to see.
They got me good. But I learned Alot from the experience.
I'm currently looking for a new seo company and I want to hire a specialist for each social media avenue.
      Do u have any recommendations?

He is right... we also do month-to-month but we let our customers know that you can't have results before 3-6 months of SEO. The problem is that most of the time, people expect miracles with low budgets without realizing how much time it takes to target specific keywords. Ask your marketer about his work on other websites, ask him to show numbers, ask him where he failed. Very good video, #TimBrown says things the way they are.

Great video! Thanks for the mention Tim and Dmitry! Thinking of doing a response video with some of my comments. In-house SEO is not as hard as it seems PRIMARILY because it's local SEO. Think about it this way: how are you going to survive a bear attack? You don't need to be the fastest runner in the world.. just need to be faster than your friend. Same with local SEO. Many of the technical, complex things are not as important as they would be when competing with national companies... because most of the local competition is weak to begin with.

One thing that Dimitry and Tim Brown should stress, is that there are many Marketing Companies that take 3-4 roofers (!!!) in the same area!!! And they are supposedly doing SEO for them!!! Who is going to rank higher out of the 4??? Roofers, stay away from marketers that work with more than one professional in the area you are targeting.

  • @jasonharley_eagleeye

What’s a “good amount of time”? I understand charging for the service and good things aren’t necessarily cheap but…if someone is charging $3500 per month for 20 hours worth of work with no guarantee and no way to track actual time spent, that’s crazy to me. $42k per year and being told to be patient when there’s only 1 hour per week day being spent is steep.
Happy to share my experience in the right setting. Tim and his team have good intentions and did some good work on some things. For those, I’m thankful and appreciate the good work. A customer throwing big dollars at something every single month should be taken incredibly seriously and promises made should be kept. No excuses…clear communication…respect on both ends.

Great video. Great content. Getting the same vibe from the comments as I did about the videos on sales ppl. The cost is not relevant. It’s what you are getting in return. If you are a 3 men operation fully booked on thin profit margins jobs, you are probably not ready to hear this content. You need to reflect on where you want to go.

Google ad management is currently $1300 through Hook Agency - SEO is a different thing, and yes it is difficult and expensive. I respect where you're at Luis, and I understand and appreciate your complaint about price. I respect and appreciate every roofing company - even when just starting out. It's ideal to invest a significant amount of time and effort into marketing from my perspective before paying someone. We know we are not people's first marketing company usually, we usually get called in after they have bad experiences, and at that point they may be ready to spend more.

As an SEO, this guy did a questionable job answering very basic questions. He was somewhat going off track from some very valuable questions, it's obvious a lot of people have been scammed by shit SEO companies, and to be honest, that's infuriating to me because I've been ripped off as a business owner as well. I'm sure his company does great work, and he's being put on the spot, but there was so much opportunity here. The answers just came off very salesy to me, he really missed the mark a handful of questions that could have been answered more clearly, he could have been nervous, but his wandering away from the questions was a bit hard to watch.

Digital marketing is tough. It's not put a sign on your truck and you ad in the yellow pages. Algorithms changes, competitors steal your content, foreigners send clients bullshit emails saying your site sucks, etc. Growing SEO is like growing a tree. It needs water and lots of love and attention. Most don't have the patience or money for it.
