I always get excited when I see you posting a video. I live in Wisconsin USA no oceans for 1000 miles or so but have been collecting shells for almost 50 years on my many trips to Florida, mexico, and Caribbean but before I get too old i want to travel to Australia and the Philippines and do some collecting. Keep up the great work Maddie and I'll see you on the next adventure.
G'day Jeffrey 👋🏻🐚 Oh wow, hello to you in Wisconsin!! I didn't know that you were so far away from the coast -- that's crazy 😲 Did you know that 85% of the Australian population lives in the coasts here? Holy canoly, you've made a lot of trips to the sea! I really hope you do get to come to Australia 🦘 or maybe take a cruise to Papua New Guinea and buy the shells at the market stalls or something 🤣 actually, I wonder if you're allowed to collect shells and take them through customs in the Philippines; it wouldnt surprise me if they had some law against it like that just like they do in Thailand. I have digressed quite a lot 🤣 Thank you so much for watching the adventure today 🥰
Ahhhhhh Maddie..... I almost screamed when your box swept by the waves 😢 But i think u got many good replacement for them, So let me tell u my fav today, Actually the one really caught my attention is nerit (they are so big, in here i can only find small ones😅) But of course my other fav are migrating moonsnail, music cone, and the crowned cone Btw,thanks for the great video Maddie 🎉🎉🎉🎉 And so sorry for the lost minnies
G'day Nelly 👋🏻💖 Hahaha, yes, I might have sweared a little when my box got swallowed up 🤣 but yes, I still found plenty of other shells to replace them with!! Wow, I'm so surprised that the Nerite caught your eye!! It was a nice size for a Chameleon Nerite, that's for sure, but I think the little Nerites are adorable too 😉 Hehe, I though that Migrating Moon Snail would be a favourite as well, but I'm a little surprised that the cones made your list as well 🐚 As always Nelly, thank you so much for watching 🥰
G'day Lisa 👋🏻🐚 Oh my goodness, I am for-sure so lucky to live on the coast 🏖️ even if I do misjudge the tides sometimes!! I love the shells I can find here 😁 I'm glad that I could share them. Thanks for watching 🥰
Oh Maddie awful tide! Great video. Love Nerites, Sundials and Cowries. Lots of amazing tinies. Favorite Pipe Organ Ciral even tho so tiny. Lots of 70's coming. You take care. Much Love. TRUDY THANK YOU
G'day Trudy 👋🏻💖 Oh no, it was my fault for misjudging the tide time. The tide was quite high, and I needed to wait an hour before the rain stopped so I could go shelling, so my pace was all out of whack. Add to that the high water level and a lot less time at the beach than usual before the tide turned, well, the timing just snuck up on me. I feel like I recovered pretty well after thankfully getting my favourite cowries back from the rock pool 😅 I did only get one of the sundials back, though, but it's super cute. Oh wow, so the Organ Pipe Coral is the favourite!! It sure it lovely; though you can actually buy large clumps of it in places that sell that sort of thing 😲 it's quite amazing to look at. Hope you're staying well, Trudy 💖 Thanks for watching 🥰
G'day Mark 👋🏻🐚 That Grape Cowrie is a particularly nice one!! Oh goodness, the sundials from here are such cuties 😍 I only got one back, but I'm satisfied 😄 Thanks for watching 🥰
🌊🌊🌊 Oh nooooooo… can’t believe the waves swallowed your shells!!! 🐚🐚🐚 You recovered really well. I agree with your favorites! I just love it when you find unusual specimens like that juvenile bonnet! The grape cowrie and cat cowrie 🐈🐈⬛🐈 were beautiful! I’m happy you picked up that little bit of red coral 🪸, it was stunning. Thank you for another great video Maddie! Beware of the Waves! 🌊 🥰
G'day Pam 👋🏻💖 Haha, I really should have paid more attention to those waves! Yep, swallowed my box whole until there was nothing left, but I did fish out my favourite cowries after 5 minutes of frantic searching 😅 the other minis were taken away quickly by the suddenly relentless water 🌊 and I found a bunch of other lovely shells as well! At first, I didn't think too much about the super juvenile bonnet, but then I got quite attached to it! Lots of lovely little treasures to take home this time. Ahhh yes, I will be more careful of the waves next time 🤣 Thanks for watching 🥰
Hi Maddie, the sundials were cute. Excellent, a floating shell box you don’t see many of those, what a good idea. An unusual amount of beans on the sand calls for huge amount of toast to eat them on! 😂😂😂😂😂 oh no sorry the sea took your shells😯.loved the cowries that you picked out at the end. Coral and scallop shell with grey patterning on lovely too. I can’t just pick one!!! 😂The more I looked at the end display the more I saw it was a work of art, pity they aren’t permanent. Thank you for sharing this with us. ❤xxxxxx🪼🏖️🦑
G'day Alison 👋🏻💖 Haha, the floating shell box is, of course, some random lidded box thing I found in the kitchen drawer: it's too small to be a sandwich box, but too large to hold a portion of biscuits?? It's never been used in all the years we've had it, but it's putting in the work now! Ohhh yes, I'm buried in Beans!! I'll eat all the toast, but I'll let you snack on the beans 😂 even with oodles of cheese, I could never enjoy beans on toast for more than a few bites. Maybe it needed Vegemite 🤣? As for the shells; that coral is getting a lot of love this time, and I'm glad that you liked the scallop as well! Ahh yes, the poor shell display is ruined in minutes as I end the video, but it's memory will live on forever (I promise, I do take a picture before wrecking it)! Thank you so much for watching another big shelling adventure 🥰
Good morning Maddie, oh goodness. I didn't see that one coming. The thing we won't speak of. 😂 My favorite is going to be the beautiful grape and the sweet little sundial. I do however have to mention the carditas. I love those. Very sweet juvenile Arabians. We are in the mid to high 60's here this week. As they say April showers bring May Flowers. 😂 Looking forward to late spring here. Our rain and temps have been all over the place this year. I fell into talking about the weather with your rain. Thank you Maddie for sharing, I'm very sympathetic to what we won't speak of happening. 😂 Hope your day and the week is kinder to you. Sending a big hug.
G'day Roberta 👋🏻💖 Haha, yes, my shells got swallowed up because I wasn't paying attention 😅 but hey, lesson learned for next time 🤣 I'm glad I got the Grape Cowrie and the cute Sundial back from the rising water 🌊 Oh, those little Carditas have been so nice lately?!! I pick up as many nice ones as I see these days. Wow, it sounds like you're getting your fair share of rain over there too!! I hope it's warming up nicely as you're going into spring and summer; I think the USA had a particularly cold and snowy winter, so I hope you're past that now!! Thanks for watching, Roberta 🥰
G'day Hurriyet 👋🏻🏖️ Yessss!!! I needed someone else to like those Small-toothed Cowries as much as I did 😄 Thanks Hurriyet!! Oh goodness, and that Cat Cowrie was a stunning one as well 😺 Thanks for watching 🥰
Hi Maddie 👋🏼 Great way that spend my Saturday night. Catching up on my beach adventures with you!! 😊 I’m going to finish watching before I start calling out my faves, but I know 1 that’s definitely going to be a top pick 😏🍇🍇🍇🍇 I see why you love the Nerites so much. They’re very detailed. Ok, so my favorites were the Grape Cowry. The 2 small Music Cones and the Blue Periwinkle Snail 🐌 Glad the weather wasn’t too bad for you.. Stay Safe out there my friend.. TTFN 👋🏼 ❤
G'day Mimi 👋🏻💖 I hope you had a fantastic weekend! Thank you for sharing a bit of your Saturday by catching up on some shelling adventures 😁 That Grape Cowrie was just phenomenal, so Yessss I can understand why it claims the top spot this time! The Music Cones have been surprisingly wonderful lately with their interesting colours and patterns that are outside of the norm. Finally, wow, the Blue Periwinkle get a favourite spot too! Ahh the weather has been showing off and on lately, but hopefully it will settle on more sunshine soon!! Thanks for watching 🥰
G'day Green Thumb Gardener 👋🏻☘️❤️ The Cat Cowrie is quite an impressive size 😲 it worth being a favourite! Phew, yeah, it was hard to keep going on after the set-back, but luckily; there were still plenty of other shells on the beach 🏖️ Thanks for watching 🥰
G'day Reet 👋🏻💖 Hehe, yes, plenty of shells on the sand!! I really was lucky to recover and collect as many shells as I did; it turned out to be a pretty good trip because of those lovely cowries! As always, thank you so much for watching 🥰
Hi Maddie 👋 Great recovery from "the incident"! I always look forward to seeing the arrangement of your shell finds and today's was especially beautiful. You definitely have an eye for creating those displays. It must take so much patience to get each of these tinies into position. My fav shell find today are the sundials.
G'day Oceanluvn Gal 👋🏻🌊💖 Hehe, I'm glad that I was still able to find some awesome shells after that unfortunate turn of luck 😅 silly me!! Oh my goodness, thank you so much for your kind words; setting up mini shells into a display is always the most difficult because none of them have much height to make it look layered and interesting. Sometimes I do okay, but sometimes I think I put together a bit of a flop 🤣 this one was nice, though 😁 it's also nice that the minis gripped onto my wooden plate nice and easily too...sometimes they doesn't cooperate with other surfaces!! Oh, I'm glad you liked the sundials, they are just wonderful little shells ❤️🐚 And as always, thank you so much for watching 🥰
7:50 what a spectacular specimen of Diodora ticaonica, Maddie😊, how clearly the cross pattern appears on it👍 5:21 what a bright and dark Melicerona listeri just pulled out of the water and Palmadusta clandestina has such a nice color😊
G'day Mikhail 👋🏻🏖️ Oh yes, sometimes those little D. ticaonica can be quite spectacular 🤩 and sometimes they will look plain and boring 😅 Ohoho, the Melicerona listeri was very nice in this one...I think this is another cowrie species that can be a lighter colour in the warmer areas of the Indo-Pacific region 🤔 because they're usually this dark colour from here, but I have seen much paler coloured ones on the Internet. I think I'm lucky; Queensland is tropical, but also slightly cooler than places like the Philippines, so maybe the cooler water makes darker shells? Again, I've said this before but it's just a theory. I am slow to getting to messages these week 😭 Thank you so much for catching up on my shelling adventures 🥰
I'm so sorry that the surf wreaked havoc on your shell box! It is much appreciated that you do your best to identify each type of shell you find. As well as lots of fun, your videos are interestingly educational. Thanks for your efforts. Jan from Austria
G'day Jan 👋🏻🐚 Ahhh no worries, I really can only blame myself for being too inattentive! Really though, I got my favourite shells back from the watery rock pool, so I consider myself very lucky 😲. Oh gosh, I'm so glad that you enjoy my videos and appreciate the names and little tidbits of information I share about the shells... sometimes, I think I should rename my channel "Shell Nerd" or something like that 🤣 Thank you for reminding me about your name too - your husband's picture caught me off-guard for the second time now 🤣 I will remember next time, I'm sure 😁 and of course, thank you so much for watching 🥰
G’day Maddie🎉. Okay today i loved everything!!! But if you remember (as if😂) the DONKEY wins my 💜 🤩. Hope you are well and thank you for by doing what you do☀️. It means the world to someone who isnt able to get out and enjoy nature like this. 💚
G'day MaryAnn 👋🏻🏖️ Hehe, thank you for loving everything!! Hmm, I must admit, I only remember people's overall favourite shells half of the time 😅 but I'll have to remember now; your cat (in your profile picture) is coloured like a Donkey Cowrie 🦓!! I'm doing great, though the rain is back yet again? We've had a very wet year over here!! I hope you're doing well too 😊 Thanks for watching 🥰
G'day Susan 👋🏻💖 Haha, yes, it felt like the tide was after me this time! Oh wow, why would I be shocked 😳 that Cat Cowrie is such a stunner 😉 Thanks for watching 🥰
Morning Maddie 😊, today I have three favorites and they are #1 is the little baby bonnet❤❤, #2 is the grape and #3 will go to the little red pipe corl. I send lots of love and hug to you and ninja. Pls be safe out there. Have a great day and hopefully the rain will stay away sf o you can make video's for all of us that can't go shelling. ❤❤
G'day Sheila 👋🏻💖 Woohoo, so the little baby bonnet is the top favourite this time!! I must admit, I like it, but didn't think much of it when I found it, but then I got really attached to it after a while 🤣! Oh goodness, that Grape Cowrie is awesome, and gosh, the Pipe Coral comes in for a sneaky third favourite!! It would be fantastic to one day find a large chunk of it; i wonder if that's possible at this beach?? Ahhh Sheila, the rain has come back again, but there were a few nice days of sunshine after this rainy day, so it's been nice 😊 I hope you have been well over there, and that the kitties are enjoying a warmer change in the weather! Thanks for watching 🥰
G'day Crimson Lizard 👋🏻🦎❤️ Ahhh well, I got the best shells back after my box got swallowed 😅 I might be traumatized, but it was a lesson learned 🤣 I feel like I got a lovely selection of shells in the end, and yes, these later ones were even nicer than what I started with!!! Thanks for watching the big adventure 🥰

G'day Good Mom 👋🏻🏖️ Hehe, the black and white shells stand out as much as the colourful ones, don't they! Thanks for watching 🥰
