I have mad respect for you now, growing up my mom would always buy the cheapest option whether it be great value or whatnot, saying that name brand was too expensive and I’d always be scared to bring those snacks to school but you showing you buying your off brand items really just show that other peoples judgement shouldn’t affect you and just to do what’s best for you, keep up the great content love ya man no homo

Yeah, keep your ego out of something like this. There's some things I'll absolutely insist getting a brand of. Such as a condiment I eat as a flavor for something. Where the flavor needs to stand on its own. But when it comes to making a recipe where I'm mixing like 8 things I don't care what brand it is normally.
I don't need some magic fruits and veggies that have a brand on them that means nothing but costs way more.
The only exception I'll really make in regards to off brand raw products like meats is frozen ones. The reason I am more picky on this is that many companies will "season" a meat when freezing it and it will add extra water weight and a bit of sodium to it. So 1 lb of frozen chicken breast can often be equivalent to half a pound of fresh chicken breast in some cases. So I'll buy fresh and freeze it longer term myself. Also you can save a decent amount of money learning to slice such things as pork loins yourself and freezing them. Best way to save money is buy a freezer and buy larger quantities of such things as meat and freeze for later and use it as you need.
I could easily afford to get a lot of the "better stuff" but what's the point sometimes?
At the end of the year does spending an extra $1000+ or more benefit me much? Not really. I could have put that into more investments. I could have taken a short trip. There's a lot of things it could have gone to that doesn't involve it ending in my toilet.
Buy based on what tastes fine and is acceptable. Don't focus on a brand.

Here is what you should do with bananas. When they start to get over ripe. cut them up an put them into a zip lock back in the freezer. That will keep them for a few months well. I use frozen bananas and berries in my smoothies instead of ice.
