Hi. I would like to ask You to interprate specific situation which happened and it is dificult to find answers in the books. Lets imagine that RVR of the airport measured by AWOS at 3 points is 300 meters. You are over airfield and see good weather conditions
Vis above 10 km no clouds, only fog at end of RWY 14L. But you can see 3/4 of RWY and You have vis above 10 km from RWY 32R. You are IFR but asking TWR/APP for VMC approach and received his clearance for LDG. Question is if the RVR now is override by Your Pirep and You can land VMC or You have to respect RVR numbers and if they are below Your minima go to alternate. I would be gratefull for Your advise. Greetings Kris

Hello, thanks for taking the time to watch the video and for your question.
In the situation you have outlined, if you are an IFR flight and have requested a VMC approach and received clearance for landing from the tower or approach control, you should respect the RVR numbers provided by AWOS. If the RVR is below your minimums, it would be necessary to go to your designated alternate airport as per regulations. Your PIREP alone may not override the RVR measurements unless the controller explicitly informs you otherwise.
      Hope this makes sense.

Thanks very much - I am glad you found that useful. And that’s right: operations down to CAT 3B can be with a DH of lower than 50 feet or no DH.
