Disneyland Fantasyland TV special 1983 - Heather O'Rourke - Part 1

- In 1983, Disneyland did a major renovation to Fantasyland and shortly before it's opening, they aired this special on TV. Disney has always been brilliant in the way they use television to promote their products.
This 1-hour special has a lite story revolving around a sad young girl but it's pretty much a big commercial for the new Fantasyland giving audiences a sneak peak into the new attractions as well as promoting the classic Disney films with short clips (I cut out the clips to avoid copyright infringement).
It stars the late Heather O'Rourke (Poltergeist) and the late comedian Morey Amsterdam and is a real treat to watch.
Here is part 1. I may put up the other parts later...if there is interest. - Развлечения

who was she I was born in 84
Marshan Thomas her name is Heather O’Rourke she died in 1988 when she was 12, she was most noticeable in her role as Carolanne in poltergeist
Not just that shes not here now, that she didnt even get a chance to live. Dead at 12, thats so horrible. She was great.
Heather O'Roukre was a GREAT actress and is STILL greatly missed by all her family, friends, and fans.
Heather o Rourke Disneyland before New interview review history books documentary about biography history channel VIP tickets tour guide Legends she was legendary legend legends of view of the world
I Miss Heather O'Rourke, She Didn't Have to Die, She was the Most Beautiful and Best Child Actor Ever
at least she has an older sister who would carry on the fire of her family history and shoulder the will of Heather to continue and carry on unlike Judith who has no siblings by blood
She truly was a natural. So unbelievably tragic. 😔
She was so beautiful
I don't know how her mom coped all those years wondering how Heather would have looked like as a teenager and then as an adult and all the things she could have done. Her mom was robbed of her happiness. I can't imagine living like this for 30 years.
A Very Talented Young Lady, Sadly Missed To This Very Day.
Heather beautiful
Gone too soon.... Poor little angel 😔
I know right. She had a great life to live. She never got to graduate middle school. She missed out on my favorite show of all-time.
Heather beautiful Angel! 😔
Emilly Oliveira cute girl
I honestly miss Heather O’Rourke after my daddy said she died on February 1, 1988.
Beautiful Princess ❤️❤️❤️❤️💔💔💔💔😢😢😢😢😭😭😭😭 i Love you Heather O'Rourke rest in peace
Back then I guess it was normal to just drop your little 7-year-old sister off at Disneyland by herself while you go meet up with your girlfriend. Gotta love the 80's innocence.
Ah those where the days kids in the front seat with no airbags lol this is a great blast from the past
heather was so cute.i loved her in poltergeist.i miss her ;(.
not to be rude since your name is chris brown n I love chris brown lol. I will ask you, how did this lil girl die?
Can't imagine about Heather's death she's such a sweet little angel!
One morning her fingures turned blew they drove her to the doctor they figured out she had a bowl colaption but before they thoght she had chromes desise and they where doing surgery on her and she sufered electric shock and died it's messed up because the thing could have easily been taken care of if they new before what was really rong with her.
Gosh, I was (am) a huge fan of Heather. Thank you so much for the videos.
She's dead short story they didn't know she had a bowl problem and when she was 12 she died.
R.I.P. Heather...
My heart broke when I found out she passed so young.. I'll think about her next time I go to Disneyland 😢
Heather always looks like a lovelly princes....R.I.P. Angel....
Wow, does THIS take me back. Fantasyland was completely refurbished in late '82 into 1983. The original land had been there 25 years or so, and was really outdated for the "rad", "gag me with a spoon 1980s. Not only that, but the consensus for Disney "imagineers" was that: of all the lands which needed a major plastic surgery job (literally), it was Fantasyland. It certainly was beginning to show its age, appearing more like an aging medieval carnival or circus area with all of its garishly-colorful faux-cloth awnings and randomly-placed tents:
And my dad's company had a "Corporate Day", where the park was closed to the public, but open only to friends and family of company employees.
(don't get the wrong idea, the place was STILL packed with more than just employees!)
So I remember that all of the "new" Fantasyland had just opened up, with the exception of Alice in Wonderland/Mad Tea Cups, both of which were hidden behind a very tall, very thick, PLYWOOD fence.
I was 10 and vividly remember wanting SO BADLY to ride on the Alice caterpillar-shaped cars, and being so disappointed (as only 10-yr-olds can be) when we found out it was closed.
Alice in Wonderland was my favorite Disney movie.
so sad she was only 12. She would have had a great acting career
the year i was born too. she was the brightest star in her day. RIP Heather
R.i.P heather
Ok
Lauren MyEverything Yuh Ariiii
I believe she would've grown to be so successful...
She would’ve been on shows like saved by the bell and Beverly Hills 90210. She would’ve been another Jenny Garth kind of talent
@@Brandonmccullen77 she woulda had just as much potential as Drew Barrymore did as an adult actress
@@Luispbringstheheat I could see that definitely and could see them doing projects together. In fact Heather probably would’ve been in Charlie’s Angels with Drew
Watching Heather she acts so mature and she’s funny at times too she cracks me up she was a brilliant actress and could put her ha d to anything from being Carol Anne in the scary poltergeist films to playing with dolls in adverts and this of se was with us today I believe she’d still be acting so so sad she left us so young RIP Angel shel always be that adorable little girl with the beautiful blonde hair and famous for her spooky cry their heeeaaarrrr
Hey Heather do you remember you asking Disney family members made movie with new Disneyland before New 2022 same thing happened to delete discord Disneyland 80s 2022
Dude, I have been looking for this for YEARS! THANK YOU for posting it!
I Miss You Heather o rourke you were a Very Talented Child Star, your Obstruction Should of been Fixed Straight away If it had you would still be with Us even today, A Precious Angel RIP
RIP Heather you little angel... :(
wishes from heaven.
Little angel
R.I.P heather o`rourke
2:39. I think she should use that penny to wish for a more responsible older brother. So nice of him to take her to Disneyland only to ditch her when he gets there so he could run off with his girlfriend.
lol and wait until his girlfriend finds out......unless, she's as immature as he is.
Rachel DeMattia you betcha! Lol
A 7 yr old girl who' rides in the front seat of a compact car (with nary a seat belt?), then is left to roam Disneyland alone for an hour...definitely wouldn't happen today.
No one told this child not to talk to strangers
Awee she would have became an amazing actress
Fantasyland closed in Disneyland.. 1983 predicated 2020.
Totally. If you have the film POLTERGEIST, check the front windows, walkway to the front door, and the garage door in this video against the architecture in the film. Same house. Pretty awesome.
Heather looks like Alice in Wonderland.
Very much reminiscent of Natalie Gregory in 1985's Alice in Wonderland miniseries.
5:46 I knew it, this was the Fantasyland reconstruction in the 80's before 1983. Then all the guests could do is wait forever till it finally reopened!!
so so sad she died young i think shed have still being doing movies today if she was still alive RIP Angel
There is interest. You'd have to span within a 500 mile radius to find a clearer copy of this. It really is just a big Disney commercial...but I think the little problem solving jingle could actually have some possible theraputic applications.
Wow! The spell Morey Amsterdam uses to get into Fantasyland was the same spell used by Uncle Arthur on Bewitched to play a trick on Darrin!
More cowbell.
Esa niña era tan bella como un ángel
back in the day Disneyland had classical tv show within in the park I wish they did this now.
I could just imagine Heather as an angel all she needs is the wings so sad miss her and you will live on inside all of us Poltergeist is still my favorite horror film and I wish you where here now you would be 43 if you didn't die.
It’s like they knew what would happen to her...
I was 7 years old in 1983.
R.I.P Sweet Angel
Drew Berrymore audtioned for the part of Carol Anne in Poltergiest

So sad she had less than 5 years left!! Only 7 years old here.
Please add the other parts to this special.
Fantasyland's new look way back then
Such a great actress
Disney was so much better in the 80's! RIP Heather. ♥
Alison Lekarev Not for those child stars! most were abused! some are murderd! think of that next time you watch Disney!
haha back when Disneyland couldn't attract enough business. Now a days, they can't keep out enough people no matter how high the ticket prices are .
Its called illegal immigration.
Yes. Sad truth.
@mupty Just added Part 2. Enjoy
In 1983 I birth and heather was little angel at 6 years
No Brasil esse especial foi exibido em 1987 nas comemorações dos 50 anos da Branca de Neve. Creio que exibiram umas 3 vezes naquele ano e depois nunca mais.
He took her to Disneyland. He's suppose to be with her the whole time not leave her running alone by herself. Were people really like that back then?
He is as neglectful as the Mccanns!
so funny I though the same thing lol
Yes.
But the only thing with this was she wasent accidently left behind.
This is 5 years before she died
True.
I am scared of snow white scary adventure it is really scary. lol
monarch/mk peak :(
She is so cute
Morey loved Heather O' Rourke--- He was the best and she would've been a star for her whole life. Total tragedy-- dumbest doctors ever

She's dead she had a bowl problem but they thoght it was chromes disese and she took the medeson and when she was 12 her cheeks got puffy and she died about 7 monts after poltergeist 3.
Que tierna y bonita nena
Old School Disney.
the mom is baaaaad actor. R.I.P Heather.
All bad? Come on!! I've never seen worse TV than the present: too many channels & too few quality. In fact, many TV channels program old movies & shows, the touch of nostalgia they need to improve their quality.
Heather is like "What now??" 2:45 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Why the brother got to do Heather like that and leave her bro.
ela era linda, mas que ironia do destino.............
how can you leave a child wandering around a public place alone?......
Child molester's dream, this film is for them not the children
レインRain no it hasn’t and it was never publicly stated heather died from being raped. Look up Tammy o’rourke talking about sexual abuse rumors. That’s heathers sister and goes to state heather was never raped and died from an illness
@@Thathalloweenqueen we will never know ...
Heather died from complications due to Chrones disease.
@@ashleycrawford5123 that answers the question ashley😁
can anyone say - Jon Bonet Ramsey....
Mason Storm Jon Bonet Ramsey! yes both murderd! ask Mickey mouse!!!
a slap in the face reminder that TV in the 80s, was all bad!
WTF??? Hes leaving a 7 year old by herself in a crowded amusement park?
I though the same thing
I still have a hard time watching. So sad
that draw bridge only be close 2 times only.
That's rare at this point! Thank you for that explanation!!
Why she had to die?! She was just an innocent and a very sweet young girl.
Thanks to that fucking “god”, thanks to that fucking “jesus”!
industriales37 poltergeist crew are hiding something to the public, see how many died in their cast, and their just saying that the movie's cursed. Thats why Spielberg does not talk much about poltergeist.....
Billy is cute
a thought just came to me: why would they let a 6 year old child in the front seat? (airbags)
This was the early 1980s...I think that may have been just before car safety laws started becoming stricter, and kids started being required to sit in the back and in a car seat or booster seat. I know when my parents were growing up in the 60s and 70s, most people, including children, didn't even wear seat belts.
how did she die and what yr?
She had a bowl colaption but they thoght it was chromes desise and when she was 12 well her fingers where blew and she went to the hospital and sufered cardiac arrest thats why her cheeks where so puffy in her last film before she died.
Not to be rude but who in the hell will let their kids off like and she looks like she 4 WTF!!
I though the same thing
Simply Makayla it was the 80s
Disney wants kids to wander off by themselves.
Heather is cute
CAROL ANNE!!!
Are you sure that's the case?
U really going to let a young girl like that go off by herself in disneyland what the hell his wrong with him?
#DisneyDiva
Dang! she was good at her acting at this age! 😮😱 at least i wish she would of die teen at least it would be like alcahol or drugs
Ask Steven speilberg what really happened to heather o rourke
That 80's video quality.
