Cates' Venom is incredible. Love the whole run, but the first 12 issues are truly special. For me, the guy that really got to step into the limelight after Cates went away was Jed Mackay. He is absolutely dominating Marvel right now. His Moon Knight run with Capuccio (Moon Knight, Vengeance of the Moon Knight, and soon to be Moon Knight Fist of Khonshu) is truly a masterpiece.
