This 1986 Honda Z50RD Christmas Special is a limited-edition model that was produced for one year only and was reportedly distributed in pairs to top Honda US dealerships. The RD is based on the Z50R, and all Christmas Special examples feature a chrome-plated finish with red, white, and blue graphics. Power is provided by a 49cc four-stroke single mated to a three-speed semi-automatic transmission. Equipment includes an upswept exhaust system, full suspension, chrome-finished two-piece 8? steel wheels, and a cross-braced handlebar with red grips as well as a Z-logo red solo seat, white number plates, and a side stand.
The steel backbone frame, fenders, chassis components, and fork legs are chrome-plated, as is the 1.3-gallon fuel tank that wears red, white, and blue Honda graphics and a red “Special” decal on top.
Chrome-finished 8? two-piece steel wheels are wrapped in 3.50? Bridgestone Trail Wing-2 tires. Suspension consists of an inverted telescopic fork as well as dual chrome shocks mounted to the swingarm. Stopping power is provided by front and rear drum brakes. The cross-braced chrome handlebar is equipped with red grips as well as a twist-grip throttle, ignition switch, and brake lever on the right. No instrumentation is equipped, therefore total mileage is unknown.
The 49cc four-stroke single features a single overhead camshaft, a kick starter, and a high-mount exhaust system with chrome heat shields. Power is sent to the rear wheel through a three-speed transmission with an automatic clutch as well as a drive chain.
