Only the US Government would come up with such a Byzantine method of simply applying for a grant. It took a full day for me to become familiar, and a full night to enter maybe six pages of text. Totally bizarre.

Thanks! I just spent three hours trying to figure this thing out. I think I'll just do it the old way.

The objective is to deter people from using it, thereby allowing them to squander their own money.

I wish there was a customer service line to help with this. I'm easily 7-10 hours into applying for a $10,000 NEA grant. Now I'm stuck because it says I'm not "ALERT: Cannot create Workspace. This Opportunity Package is only available to Organization Applicants" I gave up on applying to last year's grant because it was WAY too complicated with any chance of getting help.

Anyone knows how to create a workplace? This video should be updated and should have “how to create a workspace” in the first place then all other details. I’ve spent over 15 hours trying to understand and I just can’t!

It seems to create a workspace is the most difficult part than all these adding of staff/roles etc!

Trust me I've been doing grants for over 25 years, this is absurd and keeps getting just more and more convoluted. Ridiculous.

My comment is meant given as constructive and helpful. The second female to begin speaking was completely unintelligible. Her voice was not helpful or understandable. I'm sure the makers of a his webinar felt she was qualified to share her knowledge of the topic presented. Due to what appeared to be a language accent or language barrier, I feel her participation was not helpful to this presentation.

Completely unintelligible is a little harsh. You really just had to listen carefully and it was understandable. I understand that is inconvenient for you. She clearly did NOT have a language barrier! Her English was great. You couldn't understand her accent. You should try harder to understand.

    • @DeitraBrunner

I somewhat agree with you both (you and michelescalise); her accent does present some challenges to understanding what she is saying. Although she was not 'completely' unintelligible, trying to follow along with her instruction was distracting due to her accent but having the visual definitely helps in the understanding of her discussion.

No problem at all understanding here - the audio was a little muffled though.

Difficult to understand, especially for that length of time.

I agree, the woman that introduced it first was clearly speaking and very understandable. It kills me when people don't understand that accents aren't easy for everyone to understand.
