It doesn't matter what anyone does for a living. Even the greatest job in the world is susceptible to burn out if you don't pace yourself. Glad to have you back.
The thing about taking your passion and turning into a job/business, is that now you’re not going out to enjoy yourself, but you’re going out to work. It’s why I stopped filming when fishing, it becomes work, from editing, to making sure you catch fish, and then you slowly stop enjoy doing it. Used to work at a boat repair shop, I loved tinkering with my boats on the side... slowly made me hate even touching my rig. Best of luck to you chris. Best regards, FishNFab
I was wondering where you disappeared to. It's great to see you back...and I'm glad you're doing well. I'll be honest...I don't even subscribe to any of the Googans anymore...just you. Glad you're back bud!
Mad respect bro do what ya love bro. Im excited for ya. Stepping away not a bad thing. Going bring ya back hungry and that what it takes! Looking forward to your videos. Keep working hard. Southern Ohio bites been on
SO glad you are back. It sounds like you are in the greater Chicago area still. If you are looking for places to fish check out the Warsaw, IN area. About 3 hours from Chicago. Lee and Robby of Today's Angler were recently out here for a couple of successful musky trips. I am discovering that there is also great bass, walleye, pike and panfish opportunities on NUMEROUS lakes. The larger area, referred to as Michiana around here, offers a large number of lakes and rivers. Again, very glad you are back!
If you left its ok, just don't be another 'comeback kid'; & Shout out to those sticking to the grind. Chris, glad u found such success with your employment at catch co and much luck going forward with whatever u do . (i wouldnt mind seein u collab with Jon B again. You guys put out some mad videos!)
Im glad you are going to post again. You were one of my favorite You Tubers. I started a channel in 2018 because of your channel. Looking forward to seeing your content🎉👍👊👏
Welcome bacK! Can’t wait to have you back in Madison with Lee and Robbie. The fish are bigger. The filming better. You are better! That’s all that counts. Stay safe, God Bless!
I watched all those vids from 2017 on and whilst the googan guys have made a lot of money, it's all hollow if you aint happy being there, doing it, living it. I can see the difference in a lot of those guys vids from then to now, they' don't have the same enthusiasm for fishing anymore. You made the right choice. Welcome back.
Dude I totally get it. I just released a video on the time and money that goes into making a fishing video. It enormous. It's so much work and time It can easily drain the fun out of something you love.
Thanks for the update and your candidness about where you've been. I loved watching your videos, when they stopped I thought something happened health wise with you, but didn't want to pry. I guess even mental burnout can take us to dark places where we have no room for anything, or anyone sometimes. Glad you're back enjoying life and fishing, sharing your passions once again. Take care in all your adventures Chris....
I’m in the university at Buffalo fishing club, the MAC fishing tournament series would have been super cool. I respect the work that you do, glad that you are back!
You were the first fishing channel I subscribed to years ago when I think you were called Chris's Outdoor Adventures? Found Jon B through your videos and always enjoyed your guys interactions. Although Jon B's editing style even back then was just incredible, I always appreciated your more raw style and approach more. Glad to see you back man. Looking forward to it
I sincerely appreciate you opening up to us about this. I feel like I have been following you for a long time and I do miss seeing your content. Good to see your face again.
Bro I have been wondering where you went for so long.. you had the funniest personality out of everyone that they ever hung out with and I always wondered where you went!!
I can relate, I was a guide for 7 years, then stress and the big recession hit…I still fish as much as I can but its not my living anymore. Glad you’re gonna get back to posting, you were my favorite channel by far. If you wanna catch some musky this summer I’m in Stevens Point…
Fishing is really fun when I get a chance to go. It's not as fun when I have to go. I know this because I was a guide for years. Really glad to see your doing good chris. Looking forward to seeing some vids. Thanks for the update.
@@uwijsmssmsms9925 Do it ! The upside of putting folks on good fish and meeting great people while making a living is well worth it. Plus it will make you a better fisherman for sure.
I am working my absolute DREAM Job. RUclips is just a fun thing for me to do at the moment, but maybe one day it could turn into a full time thing. Keep up the hard work!
Chris, I am glad you are man enough to take your mental health seriously, and I respect that you are sharing and setting an example for others. I wish you all the best, and if you make videos because you are enjoying it then they will be fun to watch and I will enjoy watching them. I suspect that you are not the only fishing RUclipsr that is burned out. Without naming names, I will say that some other fishing RUclips channels I used to love are pretty unwatchable now.
Happy that you chose self care over selling yourself to something you weren’t happy doing at the time. Hopefully things get easier and may it bring you happiness
Chris, for life, work and family, you have to like what you do and do what you like. I be been a chef for 29 years. Most people in my industry don't make it for 5 years. Keep up the good work and thankss for all your great videos.
I'm so excited that you're back! I watched all your old videos and they really got me into fishing too the point that I was doing it so much my dad got me a lifetime license for Christmas. I stopped for a while but recently my family got a pontoon and I've been fishing nearly every day and had been really missing all your content. I can't wait to see all the new videos!
I was a touring musician for 8 years in my 20's. This video reminds me of EXACTLY what I went through in 2008 or so. I was missing time with family and friends, missed birthdays, holidays, births, and funerals because I was on the road. The final straw for me was started with seeing a dwindling audience, but finding out my wife was pregnant. I wasn't about to miss any more time with him. I went back to LSU and started over in ME and finished in 4 years. I think I had to experience it to understand the value of a normal routine. Cheers to you bud and making the decision way earlier than I did.
I always wondered what happened with you,Great to see things are looking up for you again buddy! Welcome back man, can’t wait to see what you have coming up. Looking forward to it. Let’s see those collabs.
Awesome that you are back and even better that you are wanting to do it! I have always enjoyed your videos, I thought you were always very relatable. I have a daughter who has had her ups and downs with mental health but she is thriving now. I wish nothing but the best for you. Thanks!!
Welcome back, Chris. It's great to see you again. You're looking awesome. Sometimes it is good to take a break from everything and focus other things. It is one of the major steps in healing from mental burn-out. Also, you tend to get a fresh perspective where you want your career to go. Broaden your horizons as it were. What you did is completely okay & respectable. You needed it. Don't regret doing it. I'm praying for continued success for you and your future endeavors. May everything you touch prosper and succeed. God bless 🙏😇👌✌️💖.
Never any need to explain yourself Chris. You got me into fishing and watching fishing on RUclips and I will be forever grateful. Glad you are happy! take care my friend
