That F#7#5b9 is a raunchy chord. I didnt think it would work, but it did. If someone told me to play that chord, I would cry for a minute while trying to figure out the shape, all while everyone was thinking, "I thought you knew how to play the guitar." It was an Awesome video, as always; thank you!
Awesome lesson brian, opened my eyes up on this one!! Gonna take some practice on this which works out great as im looking to improve my chord building skills . Thanks a ton!!
another priceless video Brian. I've been off my strat for a while but hearing this funky little progression makes me wana get the bugger back out. Much love man, hope those trolls are giving you less of a headache these days, or at least providing you with some light entertainment
I’m trying to find the video you did on the student who just wanted to play like Zeppelin and the two teaching approaches. I keep looking but haven’t been able to find it again.
Hey brian I need your help, I can't visualize anything on my fretboard. I hear people say that when you think of caged/chord shape or just a scale pattern that you should see the notes "light up" on your fretboard. I know my intervals and I relate everything back to the root but I don't see it mapped out the way I hear other people talk about it. Also, are descending intervals any different than ascending? love your videos thanks 🧟♂
Hi Brian! I am a little bit confused. In F#7#5b9 you broked up in F# and after you put a 7b not 7#, and after you used #5 and b9. In my logic it wolud have been: F#, 7,#, 5b and 9. What do you think? 🙏 Thanks a lot for your work! 🙏
F# is the root note... In 7th form, it is an F#7, which is an F# major chord plus a b7. If it were an F#maj7, it would have been an F# major chord plus a major 7th, which is just a 7. Check out this video on 7ths: ruclips.net/video/WBBwiWerSxA/видео.htmlsi=je8hFN_M-dFuuLVt
@@stevec9972 yup..this is an F# root note, with a 7 (not a maj7)....a '7' in a chord symbol is a b7. So the 7th portion of the chord is an F#7 chord (aka. "F# dominant 7th"). Then you just add the extensions on there - #5 and b9 🎸
Please don't ever stop teaching. I know the views are low compared to other RUclipsr instructors but... you're hands down the best one.

Learned more in 15min here about chord construction that in 10yrs. Very clear and well explained.

Incredibly helpful as always, thanks again.
Great stuff again Brian. Please keep them coming. I learn so much from this channel.
Thanks Brian for this great lesson!
Thank you so much! Never thought I would be able to understand this stuff, but you are such a great teacher!
Very good explanation!
can you make a video on interval internalization?
I'll see what I can do 😁
Great explanations!! So Helpful
Awesome lesson. Could you make a video of a practice routine on the guitar to help us practice the circle of fifth using the caged system?
Yup, it's a bit older, but this is the one: ruclips.net/video/-xy0sIcU8XM/видео.html
Clear, clear, clear!!!

Thanks Neil! Those trolls will always be trollin'. It gives me content ideas though 😁
Appreciated. Always the best!
Maestro Brian.
Enjoy!
Hey Brian, just curious what kind of mic you're using when you make your videos. I don't see a lav mic anywhere.

Don't the Chords have the b or # written after them &
Extentions have b or # . before the note.
What you described would be written
F# maj7b59

thank you very much for the explanation. now it makes sense. 🙏

Thank you. Didn t know this part of theory. 🙏
🤘
I liked this voicing
e3 e5 e7 e3
b5 b7 b8 b3
g4 g6 g7 g3
d5 dx d9 d2
ax ax ax a1
eo e7 eo e2
Or, mute A and move 4th chord up an octave.
What kind of guitar is that?
😮
