Saw this beast in action at fd Orlando and the video does not give this car justice. The roar of that car is amazing and the all around snappyness of that car. He really makes driving that look like child's play.
I don't care if he took Kawabata's idea, but this thing is a beast and sounds beautifully. Hard to imagine that such a heavy chassis can pull off such angles (I've seen Masato Kawabata's gt-r drifting too).
Gaius Trollius It was only a matter of time before the R35 starting becoming widely used as a RWD layout. To say he stole the idea is absolutely vague. You'd make a R35 RWD like the rest of us if we had the resources to do it! Hell people were asking the question of a RWD Gt-r before the R35 even came out.
I'm not saying myself he got the idea from Kawabata (it's comments from various people around the net), but it's very nice to see that this car is slowly evolving into a badass drift chassis. Judging from both Kawabata and daigo saito, it has extreme potential to our (?) world.
Well if I had the resources to build just the engine like that (not the whole car, just the engine, I already know even that's too much) and throw it on an s15 Silvia, I'd be happy as Larry xD
Daigo built this beautiful machine because the G37 from last year was twitchy and unreliable even though it had a fuckton of power. This is such an improvement and he has already done extremely well with it in formula drift this year. His driving smoothed out thanks to how good the suspension and power setup is on the GTR chassis
Worth the wait...Daigo just can't make it without power. I have never seen anybody so intimidating behind the wheel. He was born to high speed drifting. Without 100% steering lack, he would make any car really go 90 dgrees...insane. cant wait to see him here in the US
i admire how brilliant Japanese people are on making and driving their cars . Samurai spirit on four wheels and incredible accuracy . For those who don't know the beauty of it please watch the movie ( initial D ) . They actually dance around the corners and it is not just one car ,but multiple cars one behind the other . Just wow ! Personally i am a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo myself but i also adore Skyline as it was called in the past , now it is called GTR and i think it is a beautiful car !

Here's the checklist Are they made of rubber Are they hard enough to make it around the track a couple times and not melt Are they cheap (You will be buying a lot of them) Anything that fits this is a good drift tire.
Its cool to see a drift spec GTR, but im not sure how good it will do in competition. Weight is the enemy of any drift car. The GTR is 3900 lbs stock, this one probably still weighs about 3300+ pounds, thats a LOT. Looks like he was having a hard time hitting the apex, but me might not have been aiming for them in this demonstration.
dracula vegeta yes they can. because they tune them for maximum grip, now that may sound silly but they actually need grip to be able to go faster and with a bigger angle at a given corner, thus why they need the crazy amount of horsepower... so it will do a pretty solid time on a time attack lap :)
Stefan Petrov no they won't, they are designed to have grip going sideways, they have lots of camber, toe and all that stuff so when they drive straight they start moving all over the place and when you get to a corner they immediatly want to oversteer because that's what they're designed to do

Yeah Nissan released a Nissan GTS-T, a red turbo version of the regular AWD GT-R R32. Never sold in the US, and was a limited run car.

The one thing I like the most about this whole car is the fact it stayed VR. Could’ve 2J or RB or V8 swapped yet kept the humble VR.

Actually, you need lots of grip in drifting. Most FD cars have very grippy tires at very low psi
