this music video is one of the best depictions of trauma I've ever seen. Being reminded of those moments because of triggers, wanting to get out of the fucked up mindset you have because of your trauma, but not being able to get out.... taking measures into your own hands, hurting yourself or taking pills to make your brain go quiet... Yoongi, you're brave for telling your story. It must've been extremely hard to revisit the moments that hurt you the most. I hope it helped you heal in the process.
Regarding the pills, i am 99% sure they represent him taking pain relief pills for years for his shoulder, since he only got surgery not long ago. He told us how painful it often was, to dance with a broken shoulder

Theres a book Yoongi read, called almond, in which the main character's mom tells him to eat almonds, because she desperately wants him to feel something again. I thought the almonds he ate represented him trying to "fix' his amygdalae and since he showed the pills around the same time and sort of in the same context, I thought the pills represented him wanting to do the same.

It's such a perfect illustration of how it feels to be in the deepest depths of your struggling, when it feels impossible for things to get any better. Amygdala has a very deep meaning, not only does it allow us to see your suffering but also the longing to get out of that dark place. Being able to see how you try to save yourself while asking the amygdala to get you out of that danger in a constant fight to open that door It is one of the most personal and profound things you could show us and many of us identify with this and it is beautiful to have seen in your concert how you the door. I hope one day i can open my door..
I think it depends on how you interpret it. I personally saw the room he is locked in as his trauma and the bad memories he wants to escape from. In the beginning he is singing about wanting to erase them but he fails to do that, because by fighting it you will never win. And the amygdala could also be seen as the place your trauma is stored in, so he is begging his amygdala to stop and save him from those terrible memories. You have to accept them in order to be able to let them go. But they will always be a part of you, that's how I understand it :) However I hope you find a way to get better and enjoy life again, 보라해요 💜
I really wonder if Yoongi realizes just how powerful his music is. He has this special ability to really speak to and connect with people in the most human way possible. It's a beautiful thing and I hope he's aware how many lives he's touched through his music.

I think if he had chosen any other line of work, he would have definitely excelled but it would have been a loss to the people who listen to his music and find the strength to carry on with their lives. My whole chest feels so heavy. The MV is so well made. The way Yoongi has shown his struggles, pain, being stuck in a loop and his constant efforts to get out of those hurtful memories...it's all so tragically and beautifully presented here. Hats off to the directors as well who have captured the spirit of Yoongi's feelings in this short music video in such a masterful manner. Songs like this really make me wish that I understood Korean because I want to get the full essence of the lyrics that came straight from Yoongi's heart. A lot of soul of the original lyrics are lost when they get translated and although I can hear and feel his hurt and desperation in his voice, i just also want to feel the vibe of the lyrics in Korean. The original language of (most) songs just hit different!

This is a really powerful way to describe the way trauma can feel like a constant threat, even when it's not actively present. I think "Amygdala" is a really beautiful and important song. It's a powerful reminder of the pain of trauma, but it's also a hopeful song about the possibility of healing. I'm so glad that Suga wrote this song, and I think it's a really important addition to his discography.

I think it depends on how you interpret it. I personally saw the room he is locked in as his trauma and the bad memories he wants to escape from. In the beginning he is singing about wanting to erase them but he fails to do that, because by fighting it you will never win. And the amygdala could also be seen as the place your trauma is stored in, so he is begging his amygdala to stop and save him from those terrible memories. You have to accept them in order to be able to let them go. But they will always be a part of you, that's how I understand it :)

I've seen Yoongi's
interviews where he wonders what would he be doing if he was not a BTS member. I think if he had chosen any other line of work, he would have definitely excelled but it would have been a loss to the people who listen to his music and find the strength to carry on with their lives.

My whole chest feels so heavy. The MV is so well made. The way Yoongi has shown his struggles, pain, being stuck in a loop and his constant efforts to get out of those hurtful memories...it's all so tragically and beautifully presented here. Hats off to the directors as well who have captured the spirit of Yoongi's feelings in this short music video in such a masterful manner. Songs like this really make me wish that I understood Korean because I want to get the full essence of the lyrics that came straight from Yoongi's heart. A lot of soul of the original lyrics are lost when they get translated and although I can hear and feel his hurt and desperation in his voice, i just also want to feel the vibe of the lyrics in Korean. The original language of (most) songs just hit different!
