My son, in 7th grade, was already 6 foot 220, with a 14EEE foot. A metal head, lead guitarist, and son of an atheist biker. He, allowed her to finish speaking. Then politely said to her. "Ma'am, I believe you have made a grave error in judgment. This (pointing at his shirt) is my religion, Rock' n Roll. You're not aware of who my dad is? I am certain that you will. Now, I am going to my next class and you can go f yourself. " That evening after he'd told his mom and I. I called the Superintendent (my brother-in-law) and the Junior High principal (who was my Freshman history teacher). Then called the president of the school board, and requested an emergency meeting, a public one, of the board. 48 hours later, in the boardroom, that teacher was fired, without any severance and no letter of recommendation. My #1 position on the school board was to represent the Student first (a safe and reliable education) and 2nd the taxpayers. The faculty and staff had one-year contracts, with very specific guidelines of what could be discussed 1 on 1 with a student outside of the curriculum. She violated her contract. No 2nd chances. Not on my watch. That was 1989. My son is now teaching in the High school of that same ISD, his uncle is still Superintendent, his wife is teaching at an elementary, and two aunts teaching at the high school. , I am a retired Construction Project Manager for Higher Ed and K-12. I ran Bond Programs for college systems and ISDs across Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma for 40 years.

@ define hardships? I’m a disabled vet. Cant get approved for disability while still working two jobs on doctors restrictions to feed family. I have 10 medications very expensive. Two of them over 5k. It literally takes me 40 minutes to walk down the stairs to go to work. My arms were so stiff I couldn’t grasp the steering wheel to go to work. Still denied of disability and no doctors would help me get a letter to approve disability. Oh and medical office want there money. I’ve had irs garnish my wages for medical. So then I have to figure out how to compensate. We don’t have enough funds for snap so I was denied those benefits too. All while serving for our country. My life isn’t a cakewalk but I work my behind off. Again I sympathize for the migrants but it shouldn’t be our burden to help everyone when we can’t help ourselves and our homeless citizens. People should show their kids the right way to do things. Like a relationship from a psychologist perspective we have to love ourselves too.
Same here. I think that’s horrendous. I show my birth certificate and Social Security Number at DPS when renewing my license and show my DL to staff at school to pick my kid up. I understand those situations, to confirm my ID. But this? This is just ridiculous. If you’re here undocumented then that’s with the courts. The courts will handle that. This is just an excuse to permit racial discrimination and US citizens that are brown or of color will be profiled. Undocumented people that pass as white, or are of European descent will be able to blend in better than even some US Citizens who ICE deem suitable to pull over and harass.
The 14th Amendment does not allow for public education to discriminate based on race, religeon, etc. So no dice. Never going to happen. You are just making up stuff now lol
