I'm here becoz I was watching Kate bush vid and saw manon swamp pdd being danced and it broke my heart then discovered everything about manon and discovered Carlos my world is opening door by door xxx
This opening reminds of the power and emotion Nijinsky had. The images of his poses would really move me. And Carlos Acosta has this...Ps You can’t find Carlos Acosta’s height anywhere. So am gauging his height against David Frost who’s around 5 ft 11-12 (1.80 m? )so he’s about 6ft 2 (1.89-90 cm ). My point is when he jumps his feet are far from the stage. And spin his body several times aswell as entrechat entrechat...
He seems such a lovely genuine guy . I look forward to reading the latest video out on his life . I thought it was the Russian influence in Cuba that accounted for well trained teachers there .
Acosta was a guest artist at ABT some years back; I attended one performance, did not know of his background, and did not enjoy his performance. Since then I have watched a lot of his dancing and interviews through you tube and now really enjoy his dancing . Acosta seems now retired from active dancing, but he is an inspirational dancer and polished partner.
La escuela de artes no es solo la escuela de ballet. Es una escuela ara todas las artes, lo sé porque yo estudié ahí Artes Plásticas y es una escuela super rigurosa donde no entra cualquiera.
Mr. Frost great interview & I Thank you. I was borne in Cuba and my family left when I was a small child to the USA. Acosta is an incredible & gifted artist and I appreciate the love he has for his family and country, he talks about the dream of Castro & Che both murderers not only to the Cuban people but to other countries as well, by rebuilding (the dancing ground) but there is one thing & it's the following Cuba has been under a communist regime for 60 years and nothing just nothing will change or improve under that tyranny, no matter what you do or say will do NOTHING. Freedom for Cuba and the people is what they need... 🇨🇺🇨🇺🇨🇺. ❤😥🙏
Your comment shows the brainwash you got in the USA educational system. You should better use your time and energy to stop the inhuman blockade of the USA against Cuba, than posting anti-communist propaganda! Your action against the blockade would help the people in Cuba!
What he is saying here is at odds with what he said in his biography, "No Way Home," where he says that the prima balerina absoluta of Cuba, Alicia Alonso, is a racist and that he suffered racism in Cuba. Here he says that he never suffered racism, but then again, he has to be careful what he says less the regime punishes him.
For heaven's sake ...no child has been a "pauper" in communist Cuba. With rice and beans, and whatever he ate, he was surely better nourished than many poor children in America. And when he "dropped" school he was taken to boarding school. He was not a "pauper" He was a talent rightly targeted by Cuban well trained teachers.
This is the best interview with the adorable Acosta! Thank`s for this!

I read his book and he did not write that Alonso was a racist.
HAY QUE LUCHAR CONTRA LOS NGLESES, NO RENDIRSE SU CULTURA ES VIOLENTA, NO QUIERO QUE SE IMPONGA
I thought black is color and not a human being.
