I cannot help but wonder why is the guide yelling the commands for everyone to hear, to a dog that is right at his heels, when whispering would also work perfectly.

@@marisamar3247, I've already explained. Everyone who intervenes and the public must listen to the commands. Example 1: The dog cannot do anything without command (cannot anticipate). How can the judge assess the dog's timing if he doesn't hear the command? Example 2; There are exercises done at distances of tens of meters. Once again the dog and the judge must listen. Example 3: The environment, stadium or other, can be very noisy. Example 4: Wind and rain can interfere with dog/handler/judge communication. Example 5: Competitors seek perfection, there can be no hesitation. I've seen good competitors lose a lot of points, for commands that came out wrong and the dog "says" "What did you say?", and tries to guess.
