I think he touched a lot on wanting to exceed 10 to 11 wins, so I'm excited to see just what happens this season. 11-1 with just a loss to Ohio State could lead to the first 12-win season since 1994 and possibly the first 13+ win season in school history in the playoffs.
The man is in his early 50's and has way over 100 wins at Vanderbilt of all places and Happy Valley!!! Do think everyone is a Bear Bryant, Joe Pa, Tom Osborne, Bobby Bowden, and Nick Saban? Legends don't grow on trees people, I can't wait till Franklin breaks through and then since he is so young, Dynasty!!!!! WE ARE

@@kevinchandler179 after 10 years going on 11, he never mentions nattys any longer, not that they were required, nor routinely suggests PSU is gonna win the B1G. Those days are over and expectations have been lowered for ALL Penn State fans. I loved the hire, but he has taken it as far as he can. Game day coaching is required to play at the level Penn State needs to play to win the B1G, as we have learned after 10 years of this.

Stat that says it all...Franklin has had 37 top 25 opponents in his 124 games as HC at PSU..he is 12-25..thats right 12-25...yes..he still has a job...had Paterno had those numbers he would have been gone 5 years ago...its the new PSU...mediocrity lives.
Franklin is 4-16 against OSU and UM. He is 1-9 vs OSU and 3-7 vs UM, the only two teams that are standouts. Additionally, In 20 games against top-10 opponents, the Nittany Lions are just 3-17. Two of those wins came in 2016, when they defeated No. 2 Ohio State in the regular season and No. 5 Wisconsin in the Big Ten championship game. Since that conference title game win vs. the Badgers, Penn State has won only one of its 14 games against top-10 teams, beating 10th-ranked Utah in the 2023 Rose Bowl Game. Also, over his 124 games, he has faced a team ranked in the top 25 of the US LBM Coaches Poll 37 times. The Nittany Lions are just 12-25 in those matchups.
Pretty much says it all..but talk numbers/facts to Lions fans or the administration..they think he is elite beyond elite...BULLETIN...there is only ONE ELITE COACH at PSU...his first name is Cael.

Excuses trail Franklin’s resume at Penn State. Sanctions, then poor facilities, then underpaid and understaffed coaches positions, recruiting efforts, now it’s NIL money. One never hears the straight answer-he is an above average coach at best, a terrible game day and game planning coach who is a super figurehead for the University. Question: are you satisfied with above average or are you willing to move on when the buyout is reasonable for a chance, and it may take more than one hire, to hire a great coach? Most I’ve met would now take the chance in lieu of annual given losses to the same teams.

I can think of 2 coaches right now who would come here in a heartbeat..be better than Franklin....Matt Rhule/Greg Schiano.
