Along with Herge's Tintin, I was (and still am) a big fan of Goscinny and Uderzo's Asterix books. Wonderful art, memorable characters, and great storytelling, with a delicious helping of sarcasm and cynicism. Lots of anachronistic humour (Obelix' 'Menhirs Turning' sign is a favourite), and the best ever sound effect for a smack in the face: 'PAF!!!'

I always preferred Asterix to Tintin books as they were funnier and usually had better stories.

I like them equally - but I do love all the inter-war art deco vehicles, etc., in the Tintin books. I did have a large model of Tintin's moon rocket, but sold it due to lack of room. It was gorgeous.

This review was a lot of fun. I would love to see more about the Playmobil Asterix toys. Will you be collecting all of this line? If so, then I will not surf around to find decent reviews. I will wait and watch your reviews instead.

I'm going to try and get the whole range but I think some of them are already discontinued like the legionary army builder set
