Technically, each of these Jedi were saved by their masters. Ashoka by her master’s ruthless training. Kanan by listening to his master and fled the battle. And lastly, Cal by Tapal’s strength and selflessness to protect his young apprentice. But… the pain of their loss still wounds them. None of them will ever forget their masters’ sacrifice, but they will always honor their memory. Even in death, as they will one day be alive through the Force.
Until then, they fight. To uphold the Jedi’s old ideals-peace in the galaxy. The only difference now, is that they have learned the mistakes, and have become stronger than ever.

Kanan is the embodiment of star wars and everything that is right.
    He was a Padawan
He became a fugitive after Order 66
He got lost in grief, torment and alcohol
    He found his path
He became the bests of Men
    The best Husband
    The best Father
    The Best Jedi.
He passed through so much since he was very young. He lost his Master, he witnessed her death. He lost everything, he had to learn to survive alone, tormented every night thinking of what could happen if they find him. He became an alcoholic and a nomad between worlds, escaping from his past and himself. Then he found the woman who awakened his sense of responsibility and purpose in life. He then became the best of men and the best of husbands (and some of you may say that he was not married with Hera anyway, but they were a little bit married don't you think?). And when Ezra came, he learnt to be the best Master that he could be and was the best Father figure Ezra could've had. The training with Ezra and his leadership with the rebels to fight against the Empire, bringing freedom and hope to the people, forged him in what he would become. And his Ultimate Sacrifice only reaffirmed what was already true: that Kanan Jarrus is and always will be the Best Jedi of all time.

His death is what made him so good devoting himself to the force and showing Ezra what he needed to do and let go

At 1:11, Crosshair could have killed Caleb right there. He shot the branch instead. Why'd he do that if not in defiance of Order 66 and his inhibitor chip?
