I really dig my Vertex Boost. Iv also seen many rig rundowns from pro players using the Vertex Boost especially Uncle Larry (Tom Buk) and Robben Ford, some even have full pedal boards from Vertex that look so clean and sound great.
Hi, arbee49684. The Vertex Boost uses a buffered bypass switch. That means that the input and output buffers are always active. When you press the switch you’re just turning the Boost function on and off. Thanks for your interest! Charlie Davis, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1320, charlie_davis@sweetwater.com
Hi and thanks for your message, Oldtimer… hope you’re well and safe. Yes, you can place the boost in the effects loop. In this position the output volume of the preamp changes, the gain structure doesn’t. The MKII accepts a volume/expression pedal, there’s no need to have it separately in the signal chain. Keep in mind, if it’s the first pedal in line, the boost level changes for any other pedal coming after it (delay, chorus, reverb, etc). If it’s the last pedal, then it acts as a master volume. Will this Boost pedal work with the Lehle Mono Volume Pedal? The manual for the Boost MKII lists a couple of volume pedals that are compatible with it but I'm not sure if it will work with the Lehle Mono Volume Pedal.
Hi, slickcross. The Lehle isn't designed to be used as an expression device. If you're wanting something to work with the Vertex, you'll want to look at passive volume pedals like the Ernie Ball or Dunlop options. The Lehle would be a bit redundant to what the Vertex does. It already has a high quality buffer and can add up to 10db of boost to a signal. Thanks for your interest! I have the high wire and its really good for bass. It has a clean boost too but with a bass boost or cut switch. If you hve a bunch of pedals with no buffer get the highwire. I still have to buy a vertex one once i get a bigger board. Need them both haha
Depending on the amp, the tone will change as you turn it up. Likewise for some volume knobs on a guitar, the buffered volume pedal through the boost doesn’t change the tone.
Thanks for your message. Hope you're well, and Happy New Year. This pedal isn't an "amp in a box" like the the Steel String models. With no tone controls or other functions, it isn't a preamp. Buffers, volume via expression pedal and boost are the primary features. Please contact us direct with other questions as you have them! Thanks Sweetwater!!!
Got one of these. Love it. I use mine in the effects loop. Best boost out there.
Thanks Ronnie!!!
This is my favorite pedal of all time ….even though it makes no sound of its own !!! It’s just incredible, have two …😀

The originals are finally affordable 👍
QUESTION: Are the in/out buffers "always on", or are they only active when the footswitch is in the "on" position?

Using the Vertex Effects Boost MK II in an Effects Loop, can you also have a volume pedal in that loop? If so where in the Effects Loop chain? Thanks

Every time he says MK2 instead of Mark 2, I die a little bit inside.
oh no...seems to have been collapsed these days
Wait till the "MK Ultra" is released. Heart attack time!

Can you use boost without useing a volume pedal?
Yes. Works like any other boost in that way.
My god he played Riggs’ theme. Literally my favorite thing Clapton ever did..
If I have the Mesa Buffer/Booster would the mkII be overkill on a bass rig?
Depends on if you need a boost separately from whats on the Mesa Boogie.
👍🏽
@@18JR78 i use first to match levels on my guitars...real good for that...may be good for slappin da bass

Thx
now i need a pedal that doesn't affect the tone?
It's great if you love the sound of your stuff as is
This one, or the Messa Highwire?

Cool infomercial.
Serious question, why not just turn ur amp up louder than you need and then turn ur guitar volume down a little till you need it?
Depending on the amp, the tone will change as you turn it up. Likewise for some volume knobs on a guitar, the buffered volume pedal through the boost doesn’t change the tone.
Aka the Rig Doctor. Cool dude.

so noob question: is this a preamp?

Great demo, lighting, the content, only thing is weird is the host looking at the non active camera so much. Just my opinion.
