    Just for the record, not too far from me is a lake with a floating mat of live sphagnum moss. On this mat are introduced species of flytraps, sarracenia, purpurea, even some darlingtonia, all alongside our native Drosera rotundifolia. The plants do thrive in long fiber sphagnum. Also, use pumice over pool sand. Easier to get and holds less heat.

    great video, can you share a link to where you get your pots I can't find them anywhere.

      Unfortunately, I went to get the link and those pots are not available. The link I am providing are better pots, but more money. These are used a lot by growers, they fit side by side much better. growace.com/products/active-aqua-6-x-6-square-white-pot-8-tall-case-of-50?variant=39714804433060&gclid=Cj0KCQjw9ZGYBhCEARIsAEUXITW0xQSR7yme9UEp6VYKP7Z8dfOYZ1yGaXBa3RTPfLqxUhn7sYhllt0aAqk-EALw_wcB

    I just repotted my mature king henry, and the roots are a good 8in long. Is it ok to use a 5-6in deep pot? I kinda wrapped the roots with sphagnum and folded it sideways a little

      Your plant is doing well. That method will help. Next spring, try to find a deeper pot.

    since you have many plants and do many times of repotting, do you think it matters that we should only repot in early spring while the plant is dormant or just about to come out of dormancy, or does it really matter?

    • @donschiller4227
      @donschiller4227  2 года назад +1

      That is a great question. For VFTs, it can be done during the growing season, but it needs to be done with more care not to disturb the roots. If you treat it as a plug and don't break roots, you can do it almost any time. But, spring is still the best time.

      I got mine on Amazon. The square ones are better to set side by side, but the round are cheaper.

      I got mine from a pool supply store. It is used in the pool filter.
