I really hate when people ask "why bring a child into this world" and try to subject everyone to their miserable views. Should people only have kids if it means they get to live in a perfect world where nothing is wrong? It's unrealistic and I think it's the internet along with mental illness that has people applying these black and white views to everything. Congratulations on your son, maye. I am happy for you and he does look cute, but I'm also sorry that he will have to suffer and die by virtue of being created. I'm aligned with the philosophy of anti-natalism which claims it's morally wrong to procreate. I know procreation seems like a biological process but at least humans have the ability to think beyond their instincts, so I personally wouldn't accept that as adequate justification for procreation. But who cares about my opinion! There are anti-natalist parents, believe it or not! They became anti-natalists after having children, of course. Hindsight is 20/20 but you wouldn't have had to hope for your son's safety if you had not created him in the first place - instead fostered or adopted. But I guess you had compelling reasons not to prevent his suffering and death; to not care for him prior to existence to the extent that people care for children they've created - by this, I mean: it's typical for people to claim that they'd stand in front of traffic or take a bullet for their kids (to prevent their suffering/death) but they won't go to a similar extreme of simply not procreating and guaranteeing that their children won't suffer and die. Like I say, just opinions, you had good reasons.
