Nice keep cruising and stay safe out there once you taste that buzz of freedom on two wheels most never turn back 😉 nothing compares enjoy every minute life to short and your a long time dead 😅😊
In the first half if 1972, I was 22 years old. Back then there was a thing called "youth fare" which made it very affordable to travel to Europe. Air travel was still relatively new then, and the airlines were expanding their markets/customer base by offering reduced fares. At any rate, I went to London, England, and parked my butt in the borough of Kennsington & Chelsea (Eardley Crescent in Earls Court). Thank you, "youth fare"! At that time, in most establishments (pubs, restaurants, etc.), there were four songs that seemed to be playing endlessly: Marvin Gaye - What's Going On? America - Horse With No Name Traffic - High Spark of High-Heeled Boys T Rex - Bang A Gong P.S.: I was a regular at the "Chelsea Drugstore" (think Stones "You Can't Always Get What You Want"). At that time, it was a pub, disco and record store on its three floors. Apparently, it's no longer there. Progress! So, great song nostalgia-wise!
I would have really envied you in 1972 you being 22 and me only being 9 but damn now I don’t 😂😂 63 sucks enough now with new aches and pains every day it seems, but God is good and still here in the battle.
I am 67 now and still play this great song. A young teen ager when this came out. Trying to figure out what the heck it all meant. Their voices and music were perfect. Experiences for the first time and learning to be a. Adult. Happy memories 😅
I am now 84 and intend to keep listening to classics like this as long as I can play them. I endorse all of the remarks recognizing these classics as timeless. I enjoy reading the comments as much as listening to the music.
I'm not quite where you are at the moment, I'm 66. but totally agree. I just finished listening to American Pie. Man, these songs are what got me thru my High School days in the Midwest. CHEERS to you, Gary.
OH! I thought that was the name of the Album. Love the music. I know a lot of groups from 70's but don't think I've have heard of them nor of any of their songs.
So so refreshing to hear this group like 30 something maybe 40 years since I first heard ...the memory is sweet because I could move better and harmonize as I did dishes.
You said it. Our house was a house of music. We didn't hardly watch TV. We even watched name that tune and played it in the car as all our favorite songs were playing. Why cant we just raise our arms, cross em hand to elbow with a nod of our heads, and with Jennie powers , we're spontaneously back in time.
Through the thickest of thick the British will always be true friends of the USA. We may have fought each other to start things off but I tell you now brother most fighting age men in this country that actually want to serve will defend your soil like it’s our own. From hard beginnings come true friends.
I'm lit talking bout, "why is this song still playing 7 minutes later?"😄🍻 My mom taught me about all the good music. She was born in 1959. Some of the best songs ever.

Thanks for the super extended version!!! Great band. Great song. And for all you young cats out there … sometimes a song is just a song and it is just what it represents itself to be. In other words, the horse is just a horse, it’s not a mind altering substance. Just enjoy the music and groove these brothers made. 😂
At 22 years old I brought this Alnum to my country of Samoa1974 from Canton Island I used to work there, and my brothers love them. Now I'm 74 and still listen to them❤😅
Probably the greatest statement This or any reply has ever had! I personally have thought the same words not only for this song but many others also ! Thankyou ❤
I'm probably younger than most of the people who commented here, but every time I listen to this song, I dream of riding across the U.S. highways on a Harley, a beautiful blonde girl sitting behind me. Or wandering through desert towns, meeting people - especially Native Americans - dressed like a Union cavalry officer from the Civil War, trying to make peaceful connections.
Totalmente de acuerdo. Entiendo que con el tiempo todo cambia, pero que no me comparen la música de ayer con la que hay ahora. Esto de ahora ni se aproxima.
I’m 28, and I heard this song today .. there’s something about it that just I don’t know resonates with me but I don’t know why ❤! The song is just so man beautiful
Music was much different back then, not only the sounds, but where you were when you heard it, who you were with and what music store were you at when you search for albums so many different memories than now, when everything is at your fingertips

Well i am 35. Not quite old but not quite young. And i absolutely love this song and most of the music that came put in thw 60s and 70s and 80s. My parents loved classic rock and now it comforts me. But what do they mean the ocean is a home and theres something under the big cities that humans might hurt?! Lol like now we know they are real thats crazy to me. Cool though 😎
I love to hear America play. The time the warm So. Cal summer days listening to America, Steely Dan, Three dog night, and so many other greats. America played a concert in 1978 in Reno Nevada. I attend that concert. Wow, I so impressed with the guys in the band. They came out on stage wearing T-shirts and Levi's!🤗 What a breath of fresh air! They impressed me so much . I was 14 years old I was into long hair, suntans, 🚬 a little weed playing baseball, the Colorado river, and water skiing. America was one of the most memorable and impressionable bands in my entire life of countless live concerts of rock. I wanna shout out to them for being so wonderful in every way as American Men.✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
