The reds had a GREAT team all they needed was a good bullpen what kind of management or ownership wouldn't realize that?

Reds fans & owner just keep talking about the "Big Red Machine". That was almost FIFTY years ago. Last good team was THIRTY years ago (1990). They whine about small market but so is Milwaukee & St Louis. Truth is the owner had a salary dump this year & is counting on the idiots to continue to spend way too much money for an AA team.

It used to be the Big Red Machine. Now it is more like a big dead machine.

The team is now 2-13. Worst in baseball. I think the fans had it right, my dude.

There is little incentive for management to improve the roster.
Their bottom line is maxing the profits. Moneyball.
If they sell out their games and cut salaries by getting rid of good players, they max their profits.

I understand people get attached to players but honestly I think this was the best move. Winker had never played over 110 games a season. The reds wanted to get something for him while they can. Winker getting hurt last year was the cause of them spiraling down. Suarez struck out almost 200 times LY, Barnhart was terrible with men in scoring position. We got top tier pitching prospects as well. The only way to unload Suarez contract was to include Winker. Yes it sucks but I think it was the most logical move. What happens if the reds are actually good this year? Are these people going to show up? We got some good young talent and while I agree with the need to keep the young talent we couldn’t afford to give Winker a large contract when he gets hurt every year.

Last year the Reds were barely over .500. The fans are clueless.

As a Dodger fan I agree with Reds fans. Let's keep baseball competitive. You guys deserve better. Also looking at Oakland A's and Cleveland ownership.

As a dodger fan you should know that you practically have unlimited resources. The new collective bargaining also made it harder for smaller teams to compete.

I wished more young kids would worry about how our country was formed and why our Republic is being lost than a sill baseball game.

Although history lessons are great...let's not start young children out frustrated on history, politics, sexuality, and all that bullshit too early. Allow them to be kids and enjoy little things like sports. Also baseball is also a part of American history.
