This was one of the first songs I heard at the church I joined after I got sober from my addiction. It really resonated with me and I began to cry during service cause it felt like it was picked for my situation. That was a little over a year ago, I went through pure hell and was nearly dead. My mother brought me to church the first sunday that I was able to after detoxing from heroin. I've been clean for over a year and I know it was God's grace that saved me.
Dear Irishdoll, God is always there in your heart. He loves you dearly that He paid with His life to give you life, took the punishment that you may have health and have it more abundantly. His grace is always with you.

Find freedom in knowing that the master of the universe does not hold anything against you. Run to Him. With all your sin and shame behind you, run to Him. He just wants all of you and delivered on the promise to cover you by the blood of His son. Find joy in that.

It's a good thing to have sorrow over your past sin - it's part of repentance. However, You have been invited to sit at His table - invited by God Himself. How great is His grace that He would forgive you of the things you now are ashamed of. Knowing His grace, keep seeking Him in His word and prayer and in time you will fully realize He has taken away your guilt. None of us deserves His forgiveness, but because of Jesus, God freely offers it.
Also understand that the enemy would like to keep you paralyzed with guilt. Scripture says in the book of James, "Submit yourself to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you." When you are feeling guilty go to God and thank Him for His great grace that has forgiven you.....and tell the devil to leave in the name of Jesus.
