You had me hooked with a Conrail GP38 notching up in the beginning. Miss those old GP's they were very cool. Very different from the usual stuff we get today.

Looks like lots of driving and expense went into making this vid. Worth it, far as I'm concerned. You did a super job editing and captured a wide variety of freights - locals with mainly 4-axle power, a work train and lots of coal.
Also, SD40-2 beauties heading up these trains and you don't see that as often, since many of these now old units have been downgraded to local and switching service
And, General Electric U23Bs, C30-7s, C40-8s and 9-44Cs, plus lots of GP40-2s, many still in gorgeous Chessie System paint. Love it! I long since subscribed, maybe close to a year ago. The tracks are in top condition, too. These trains barrelled through there!

Love the old stealth C40-8s. Hard to believe they're all gone now and many of the SD40-2's they were built to replace are still cranking out the miles. Great video! Thanks!

One thing we all miss on many mainlines nowadays is the SD40/SD45 engines with their growling 645 prime movers at Run 8.

Extremely good video quality for 1991!

At times the quality of the video here seems like it was shot just today. The tapes this was filmed on barely aged a day.

I developed my love for trains and railroads at a very early age, as my family lived directly beside a spur of what is known now as the Toledo Branch Subdivision line currently owned by CSX. Conrail is a huge part of my childhood memories! My most vivid memory is that we had a derailment that happened literally 2 minutes after my sister and I went inside one evening. Thankfully it didn’t derail towards our house and nobody on the train crew was injured! Thanks for keeping the memories alive for us!

Norfolk Southern is in dire need of a new paint scheme. Maybe they should have just kept the Southern Railway System scheme.

There were several people that I knew who spent a lot of time on the old OD.
Knowing that it's time was short.
the problem is, during that era rail lines everywhere in Ohio were getting the axe.
