I think this video really highlights that body insecurities can happen at any size and there can be so much negative internal self-talk no matter what you look like. She's gorgeous and I really hope she started to break through that insecurity after this 💜
This episode is around ten years old, so any "body issues" she may have had--and I don't believe she had any because the onsite producer typically makes the bunch play up even the weensiest bit of any comment made, wanting to increase the nonexistent "drama," and to increase ratings and viewership. There is no reality in "reality" tv, and it's very well documented all over the Internet.
I like her having an open mind and trying different styles and allowing herself to see how beautiful she really is. It’s still great that she knew what she wanted^^ Also, great support group. Her mom was very sweet too.
I agree. Putting on the slimmer styles made her see her body the way other people see it - and opened up to like her body. That means that she not only found a dress but she got a free mental health appointment!
@@catladyfromky4142 Holly's lucky. My shopping trips with my mother inevitably ended up with me in silent tears wearing something I didn't like, after being told in excruciating detail how terribly flawed my body is.
I think the mother’s intentions were good. She saw her daughter’s body as beautiful (which she is!) and wanted to show her what she saw. It was less about “this is what I like and you aren’t allowed to like anything different” like some mothers on this show
You do know that this is nothing but entertainment, and that this episode is around ten years old, yes? All the "reactions" of the entourage are scripted and staged, everything about it is rehearsed over and over and over until the onsite producer is satisfied with everything. There's nothing spontaneous about these shows, nothing at all is actually how the ladies really act and react; it's all what the producer wants for increased viewership and ratings.
@jb6712 Exactly. Not only that, it is perfectly acceptable for brides to find different styles and silhouettes when shopping for a bridal gown. We have seen lots of SYTTD episodes where brides have tried on tens or hundreds of other dresses at other stores. Then the consultant tries a different style, and then BOOM! the bride finds her dress. Sometimes brides can get tunnel vision in terms of their dress. If they are having a difficult time finding one they love, the first thing to do is change what they try on.
I loved that second dress on her. It's a look that not many can pull off, but it looked stunning on her. That said, she looked amazing in the dress she chose.
I agree. But I am glad she tried on the different styles. Sometimes you have to rule out the other styles to make sure that the one you initially picked is the best.
It kills me when people with only a tiny bit of weight call themselves chubby, but to her she was always thinner and athletic so having a "normal" figure feel fat to her. I would love to be that weight and size, but with health issues and more that is nearly unattainable. She is one of those brides that could look great in a potatoe sack, but the bride wants a ballgown and she looked great in it.
I completely understand what you're saying and, as a larger person my entire life, I feel the same way. But also, as a former competing gymnast - she was probably grilled about her weight by trainers and judges her entire life no matter how thin. So, it's ingrained in her mind now
Good grief David, YOU of all people know that REAL Princesses wear a Tiara AND a Veil! You are supposed to guide her. Put her hair up, a tiara then a veil! What does Randy always say? Without a Veil, you’re just another girl in a pretty white dress!
The worst thing about Covid , (and I lost two grandmas and was life changingly sick) were the words ‘it’s by Dando London ….’ Endlessly I love it in that shop when it’s not
Even though she is short, I think that the princess style dress is the best for her. It gives her an hourglass figure that she wouldn't have had with the slimmer styles. I am glad they she tried on the other styles, because usually shorter people get swallowed up by the princess dresses. And she needed to feel better about her "tummy." So I think this appointment was absolutely perfect!
Silly to have referred to her as an "ex" gymnast when she was clearly ten years younger back then. As an adult, she was stunningly gorgeous---I say "was" because this episode is quite old, around 2015, and who knows what she looks like nine or ten years later---and could have worn a potato sack and made it look as if it was couture.
If the bride has "always imagined a princess-style dress," then why even bring any entourage members who don't support her vision? I realize that conflict/drama is encouraged by SYTTD producers, but some of the episodes that are the most enjoyable to watch are those with supportive entourages.
Why? Because they are family members whom the bride wants to bring. She may want people other than her to like her dress. And sometimes the bride's vision is too tunneled in that another style will look better on her, or she'll feel more comfortable, or it will match her venue, etc. It is not a crime to try on a different style to rule it out first. That is why these consultants usually out the bride in the player's pick or the mom's pick so they can proceed in the correct direction. You know there have been instances where the bride loves the other style. And it is still ok for her to change her vision. Relax. The consultants have done this a lot longer than you and I have. There is a method to the madness, even if you don't understand (or want to understand) it.
Especially when you're short. I am tall, and I can hide weight gain well. I can feel it, but most people can't see it. I can't imagine how it would be for someone much shorter than I am. There is no room for any extra poundage.

Always go with what the bride wants and quit trying to stick them into styles you want. Love her choice!

The mum really loves her daughter.

the princess dress was utterly gorgeous. She was right all along.

Because when you’ve always been tiny , ten pounds feels huge and bloatie

Love the ball gown
The dress she chose was beautiful and in budget. She and everyone loved it. Yay!❤

This British bride dresses are so much better than the American ones.
Perfect choice!
Love this dress!
Beautiful dress.
What an amazing group of supportive women. I love it ❤
I love the dress but with a veil and the tiara would be perfect!! 🤍👰🏻♀️🤍👰🏻♀️🤍
What a rough thumbnail 😭 I’d be so pissed 😮💨

Chubby? Girl, you aren’t chubby.
Spot on my dear you look stunning 🤩
Surely David Emmanuel knows you don't put on a tiara like a head band.
I love y’all.

It's to plain for her.
Chubby? All of a sudden I don't know how to speak English.
I used to be really small. 10 pounds can throw you into feeling huge.

Fitted ones look so much better
What a loving mom ❤ Also; the bride had a big blow on the head!!! Thinking that she looks chubby 🤯
