I got the same exact gpu when we went Cali last year, I'm getting over 85 degrees C. Do you think its just thermal compound or the thermal pads needs replacing as well? Just a mystery why a gpu with a beefy cooler overheats.
Check cooler speed, my xfx does not use second cooler at right speed to cool it down bellow 80c. I manually set at 80%+ in msi afterburner to keep it bellow 80c. But it tends to be loud at speeds over 70%
make sure to do a Visual on fans to make sure there Both Spinning, a say this because i have 1 fan that failed, i have ordered a new fan set, and will be replacing them soon, my ideal Temp is about 31 - 34 c in game its 65-70 c but that is with only 1 fan, then again mine is in a Workstation with 1100 watt duel Processor
i have the same card but mine doesnt show video , it has power and blue led but isnt sending video to the monitor . maybe someone can help me please.. thanks
I am having the same issue with mine... I am using this video to see if I can try and repair it at home for fun... I got a new gpu two weeks ago so now its a fun project.
Try all the inputs on the card. I was repairing a rx 580 8gb black edition for a buddy because his wasn't sending any video then when i got done giving it the full clean down and trying all video outputs when it booted it was really artifacting due to one of the chips being bad probably.
I just replaced that card with a ASUS 5500. I did not have card long since they have the tendency to self destruct. Mine is on my wall since it is only good for parts now.
Self destruct? I've used an XFX RX580 8GB BlackEdition for over 2 years and an XFX RX560 4GBfor over a year. Never had a problem at all. Clean your PC once a month...Change CPU and GPU thermal interface material once a year and your PC will live long and prosper.
I have that gpu, one issue with them is when you buy replacement fans make sure the fan stickes are reflective silver and not white, The ones with a white ring on the fans are after market and run 500 rpm slower and tend to clog up and seize up under a year even in a filtered case.
@@jawmedia7575 He can run furmark on those really cold days. Im currently waiting for a 3060ti but until this crypto craze dies down a little im gonna be waiting. I almost budged for an rx 6600 but i would much rather get nvidia, i run programs like hashcat and deepfake ai's that work much better with nvidia, Unfortunately the same hardware the miners need is similar to the hashing programs i run and deepfakes which both require a high amount of vram, and so do the miners...The second reason is cause this rx 50 aint cutting it for vr, to many frame drops and it gives me vr sickness(motion sickness). mine runs 1405 mhz stock and stays under 80C but if i wanna give it any ocerclock the thermals rise quickly. I bought mine at 110, so id def make a profit in todays market but unless i got a replacement then i gotta hold off.
Cool to have someone using classic music. Just great.
Thanks for the walk through! I used this video to help me fix an overheating card on my mining rig.
I am Very happy this video helped! ive spent much time editing vids since this upload. i do apologize for the crude nature of this vid.
should always do a Visual test to make sure BOTH fans are running , i had 1 fail and have to replace it
Can you tell me what thickness are the thermal pads?
Mostly 1mm pad thickness
Do u know the thermal pad size?
is 80 safe temp for this card?
Safe yes. But its close to throttling (85c)
Your guide was very helpful is there a way to use this card without the backplate?
guess i need to make some more of these kinds of videos. ill look into doing this. thanks for the support!

Power hungry cards. Especially if you overlook it.

Soemtimes the heat pipes are also drained

thank you for making this video , is the performance similar to other RX 580 graphics cards ?
Yea it will run Reddead 2 on balanced settings at 60fps average.
ik i’m late but yeah i use this card but looking for upgrade cause it broke i think but very good card for medium/high gaming
i got same gpu how long till i need to clean thermal paste and put new
If you bought it used. I'd take it apart and clean it first.
I have this same card. I do this to my card once a year or so.

I bought a tri fan 5600xt and returned it the same day. The drivers were crap. Kept flickering on screen. Bought an rtx 2060. Much better experience
@@jawmedia7575 so far I am not having issues with this card. But the 580 I had from XFX was a time bomb.

What tools did you use?

@@jawmedia7575 thanks I did it a while back your video helped a lot
U even have the same ram cards as me woo
i do have a video of building my rig. check it out! also am publishing a BRAND NEW video of playing some Halo MCC !
I would have plugged it in first this way if its broken i know that i didnt do it and return it before spending the time to clean it, just my opinion.
It works hot

I paid 90$ for it and sold it a few weeks ago for 350 to a guy. He needed a new furnace for his room.
