Izzy is the only one to have dominated him in the stand up. He did so in Kickboxing twice (once where he lost via a controversial decision, and the other, where he got caught by a left hook), he also dominated him in their first MMA fight, but again, got caught. Then, he went on to be the only person to knock Pereira out stiff in his whole career. He had been TKOed before. But never had he been sent to the shadow realm.
Put some respect on Izzy's name.

  • @jsequine927

The two fights really perfectly demonstrate the skill sets and incredible weapons both guys possess. Pereira with his imposing stature stalking Izzy down with the heavy leg kicks and keeping him on the back foot with his thudding strikes. The volume and pressure eventually leading to the first KO. Then Izzy, always a threat with his outstanding movement and timing, even when under extreme pressure, he finds a hole and snipes Alex for the second KO. Alex could easily have won that second fight with a fraction more caution in those final exchanges, but just the same, if there were another 10-20 seconds in the first round of the first fight, Izzy would have got the job done. Very fine margins.
