    This soundtrack for Braveheart to me is musical masterpiece, and deserved all the critical acclaim it received. The film's music has this powerful presence, its at the end however where it reaches an orchestral climax that will never be forgotten.

    Brilliantly done. You have a very natural conversational style too, which really brings it together. 👍

      Thank you.... All these videos are an extension of my university lectures so I guess 8 yrs of teaching has helped me be more "natural" when discussing this subject. I am sure I lost a few people with the secondary sub-dominate of sub-dominate to tonic cadence but that's ok.

    That part you describe after 12:00 where he repeats himself reminds me of labored respiration, which is what I feel when I watch the gut wrenching scenes associated with those bars.

    Those themes, the way it was orchestrated, the use of bagpipes and the performance of the London Symphony really makes this score one of James Horners best! I miss hearing new music from him!

    I first fell in love with James Horner’s music from “Legends of the Fall”. The music was so rich and emotional. Then came this and I was hooked on Horner. The man was a genius.

    Anyone notice all of the parallel 4ths!? haha. Those chords are breathtaking though. Really unique harmonic language.

    Just a heads up that "Uileann" is pronounced ILL-in. As in "killin" without the K. nice video!

    Are you saying the music is synchronized with the action? How is that when the action is not in beats per meter?

    • @CueTheMusic
      @CueTheMusic  4 месяца назад

      By adjusting the meter so what he wants to land hits or emotional moments do land. There is a great video by Carlo Riviera on Titanic that has a beat counter to show how this works.
