    A very versatile amp. Great review. I like his reviews because he shows us the settings and just lets us hear the sounds. I don't understand reviewers who feel they need to describe the sounds and tell us the pickup's selection, etc.

    I have the red version of this amp. This demo doesn’t do the amp justice. It’s the most versatile tube amp I ever owned. It can do crystal clean to high gain exceptionally well. I recommend trying one out in person. You will be glad you did.

    • @markkosa1

      @@jose.pinero It is the Celestion g12-70 V Type...I found it best for my taste and I used the speaker out to an extension cab to try 4 others, Greenback, G12XC35 and Neo Vintage along with a 70/80 speaker...the 70/80 wasn't bad at all but ended up with the V Type. It just depends on your style of music..

      From my understanding the only real difference aside from cosmetic changes is that the JJN uses a Celestion G12T-75 Speaker. I wish someone would make a good comparison video also because if they did I could find out if its worth swapping to that speaker in my HT20...

So I've been playing with it for 2 years and it has been a very good decision, for me there is no anything bad, but I'm not a pro and I was playing with a very cheap amp before this one. If you have a place where you can play without disturbing neighbours I would suggest you to buy it. Idk the market price right now, but I bought it because I could get an very good offer and save some money. Good luck!

    A music shop which will be referred to as 'Stan Ash' just blew an almost guaranteed sale of this amp today. My question was whether exchanging the British tubes with their American counterparts would make a difference. Sure, I could look it up. But I'd rather hear it from a human, since I was there already. But since they're geared to only respond to an obvious sale, he brushed me off to get to a non-existent customer. And this is after I picked up something else I had bought earlier. Nice job blowing a layaway sale; 'Stan' is down to three stores in the Metropolitan NY area, and it's clear as to why that is!

    I bought the previous model blackstar HT 20 studio and was not impressed. I always wanted one but it was lacking in so many ways. Hardly any clean room, cleans very bland...no warmth or sparkle, no top end, muddy. In overdrive it sounded decent but not enough power and again no top end... brightness. Speaker bogs down when adding volume... similar to what a boss katana does. This sounds more like a solid state than tube amp. Actually my old katana 100 was better in every way. Even my old Peavy classic 30 put this to shame... the classic 30 has way more life, top end, punch... and all of the frequencies the blackstar is missing. Got rid of the blackstar in two days... never again. People who don't know better or understand tone may like it...or if you only care about the drive channel and don't want a very loud amp. Just so many better options for the price...

      @@ludek.smolik Peavey classic 30, Peavey blues deluxe, fender hot rod deluxe, fender blues deluxe, fender blues Jr, etc... they may cost slightly more but all sound 100 times better in every way. The Black Star ht20 is a pretty bad sounding amp in comparison... doesn't really even sound like a tube amp. I'd take a Boss katana 100 over the blackstar amp I had and sold...

      I'm quite surprised because I have a Blackstar HT-5 and I'm quite happy with the sound (combined with the Celestion Vintage). Could it be a specific bad model?
      I had a PeaVey in the past (120W with two Black Widows) and I didn't like the sound, although I have to say that a colleague's PeaVey plays well.
      It surprises me with Boss, because I didn't like the sound of Katana at all. I guess it depends on what you expect from it 🙂
      Anyway, I hope it plays!

    • @thadlogan51
      @thadlogan51 Год назад +1

      @@ludek.smolik I don't love the katana either but I liked the katana 100 better than the blackstar HT 20 I had. I usually don't like Peavey at all either but the Peavey classic 30 and 50 amps are two of the best sounding amps ever made regardless of price. I collect high end guitars and have had several amps and still have both of those specific peavey classic all tube amps in my collection. As does my good friend who collects high end guitars...has at least four custom shop Gibson's, etc...he also has expensive Marshall tube amps and much prefers the Peavey classic 50 to his expensive Marshall amps. The Peavey classic all tube series is in another league compared to peaveys other amps... but they don't get as much attention because of their cheap price compared to other amps. Pearl Jam guitarist used one as did the guitarist from the Eagles, etc. If you play the Peavey classic amps next to the blackstar at a decent volume you will immediately notice how much fuller, rounder, warmer, punchier, and clearer they sound in comparison to blackstar amps... with way more headroom. Again those fender amps I mentioned are good to though the last fender I would pick out of the ones I mentioned is the blues Jr. Oh if you play metal a lot of famous metal and non metal bands used the Peavey 5150...such as van Halen, puddle of Mudd, etc., Etc...
