To make you feel better, when I bought my M140 new in 2018 I specced it with literally everything cos having had one before (and the mrs had one) I knew it would be a keeper. Tax for the first 6 years was £570 a year☹☹ as it listed at over £40K even though I didn't pay anything like that. Now drops to standard which is under £200 I think.
On the other hand my insurance is bugger all cos I live in the far south west as you mentioned😊😊 and MPG is pretty good as our idea of a traffic jam most of the year is a tractor or the milk lorry. And you're right about 18's. Much cheaper tyres, more comfortable and better handling. I've tried 19's and IMO not as good as 18's. And not so likely to get bent in the ever growing number and size of pot holes.

wow £60 a week on fuel really isn't bad. I was expecting you to say around £200 lol

Road tax is worked out by the cost when new. If its under £40k is the lower banding around £165, if its over with options its the higher banding over £500. The OPF is purely to do with emissions it doesn't affect the road tax

Then why are the 2016-2018 models more money for tax? They were under £40k when new…

@@jordan.garside thats due to the new tax rules i mentioned came in to effect on the 1st of April 2017. Before this they were based on emissions, being a 3-litre engine they were on the high side so they were in a higher banding for £240. This is why the early cars are more as the road tax rules were different

Ive got the 19inch wheels on my M140 and the tyres are crazy expensive. Go for the 18s if you want them cheaper. My insurance is £1300 p.a (22yo)

What exactly made it that cheap at your age? Do you add family members as named driver what exactly cause that is so cheap?

    • @andrewdaniel4163

@@curtisjackson7814 I live in the middle of nowhere mate so no city priced insurance etc. I kept switching family members as secondary drivers to see which is the cheapest also. Insurance in my area is normally pretty cheap but I also have 3 year no claims.
