As an apprentice some 27years ago we were taught to put the nail at the bottom same with plastic cable cleats, screw at the bottom. Then if the plastic part fails the cable is still sort of supported. Now I'd use a metal clip or cleat.
As a plumber, surely the nail side goes below if gravity is pulling the cable down and either side of the cable is vertical? Forget OCD and look at the failure mode.
The nail supposed to be below the cable ? Supposedly so the cable does drop and sag . Load of nonsense in my opinion as they don’t think about when the cable is run vertically.

Good point
I was taught that the nail had to be on the inside of any curve, and below the cable.
Is the first one you put in, not the wrong way, lol. My son actually got a minor in his test for putting the nail the other way round 😂😂😂😂
That’s a bit hatch! A clip is a clip - really it’s not a big deal
The nails goes at the bottom as standard helps take the weight with bigger cAbles
Clipped wrong, nail always at the bottom incase clip comes loose, it will still hold
They don't look fire rated to me 😂😂😂😂

If you turn your screen upside down it is 😂
Shit, what do you expect from a house baser to be fair.
OCD!! The cable is not vertical the corner is not a right angle.
Shite
Thanks 🤩
