    As a Panthers fan, I have an utmost respect for the Rangers as a team and Igor Shesterkin in particular. This man is an incredibly talented goalie and is passionate about winning. I do not think the loss was the team's fault either. They played well within the system the coach set up. This is what happened to the Panthers when they won the President's Trophy a couple of years ago and they made some changes. That's when we traded Hubereau and got Tkachuk instead. So maybe you fellas should trade Panarin and get someone who is willing to battle there every day.

    They bowed out in 6. Panarin, Zibanejad, Miller Trouba, Kako have to be traded. Laviolette had no game plan.

      Florida will not be the same team next year. Reino, Montour, Stolarz and potentially 2 or 3 more D leaving. Give the younger Rangers time to mature. They will be back and everyone learned a lot this year. No need to blow it all up and start over. Tweaks, maybe.

    I never thought that this was *supposed to be* the year. They won the President's Trophy, and they showed a lot of resilience and professionalism throughout the regular season, but playoff hockey is always fundamentally different. Hockey is unique among major sports in that respect. Heading into the playoffs, we always know that any of the top regular season teams might have what it takes to win four playoff series, and that some of the very best regular season teams will lose in the first round. It takes different stuff to win in the playoffs.

    Outsider point of view but your point on Zibanejad is 100% accurate. They should have always went for Eichel for Kakko+, I don't care if the Rangers overpaid a tiny bit but Eichel as their 1C for the next decade + probably would've won them a Cup this year. Keep up the good work man, your thoughts are some of the best on twitter/RUclips I've come across.

    Resilience < Renlentless. The Rangers hung in there but the relentlessness of the Panthers was too much to withstand over 60 minutes. I was exhausted just watching the games. I can’t imagine how the Rangers felt.

    Don’t forget Game 4. That was such a terrible ending to the game. Mika giveaway in OT at the blue line when the defense is making a change and Barkov drawing a penalty on a partial breakaway. Then on the PK Trouba slides way out of position to leave Reinhardt open in the slot for the goal.

  • @rjdav15

    Florida is clearly the best team in the NHL-no doubt about it! But, the fact of the matter is, THIS TEAM IS SOFT. It's really as simple as that. Changes need to be made. The Rangers will NEVER win a cup with this core. I am sick of false hope with this team. Mika and Panarin and Trouba are handicapping this team with the amount of money they make and their lack of performance in the playoffs. LOVE this team and look forward to hockey next season!

    Honestly I did not shed a tear because I saw this coming from miles away. Mid-season I was already screaming about the Rangers that this play is not going to work deep in the playoffs and that no one is getting through Florida in the East. Nothing the Rangers did in this series really convinced me otherwise. Florida feasts on mentally weak teams and the Rangers were perfect fresh meat for them.

    The Rangers problems the past 2 decades in the playoffs is their higher priced players have not been playoff performers. Mika cannot be a first line forward in the playoffs. He really lets the team down. They had too many injuries and there defense isn’t mobile enough when Fox was clearly injured.
    I did think Lav was the guy to turn it around this year but Panarin played like a junior player in the pros. He never attacked the net, never was there in a rebound. The lost to a faster quicker more aggressive team. If the Rangers won the series they would all be hurt and not be able to win it all either way. It’s unfortunate but that’s life. I won’t let a professional team control my mood.

    Florida was grittier, faster, knew how to SHOOt THE PUCk, and just overall dominated. The Rangers did not try and change up their game plan. Tried to finesse passes and held on to pucks too long. I like Laviolette HOWEVER, the lack of any attempt to try and work around Fl game plan is on coaching. They did not even try. They would have still lost, but man every game looked exactly the same and they played Floridas game instead of their own. This was the Rangers shot. They won’t be back. Contracts too much. If they don’t try and move guys they will be stuck with these monster contracts that will hurt them for YEARS to come.

    That is how the Panthers are. They wear you down and take the life out of you. They have been doing that the entire playoffs and honestly the only team to challenge them at all have been the Rangers. Yet the Rangers had too many games leading into this series in comparison. I think duration wise too. When playing a well rounded team like the Panthers you need to be well rested. I am not a fan of the Panthers but I took notice of a few teams during the regular season.

    • @davidd5407
      @davidd5407 5 месяцев назад

      Yes and no to your analysis.
      Yes to the fact the Panthers wear a team down with there relentless bruising style of hockey
      No to the Rangers offering the most serious challenge to Florida.
      31 kept it a series. He was spectacular.
      The rest of that team was never built for a long Cup run no matter what the NY media tried to sell you.
      When your stars are career perimeter players and your smallish 2nd line center consistently gets hit, what did you expect?
      The NYR getting to the ECF is proof of how lousy the Metropolitan Division truly is.

  • @jcg9998
    @jcg9998 5 месяцев назад

    "This team was different all year"... Yes, exactly. That's what fans can't seem to understand. The regular season 'is' very different. You get points for going to overtime and the Rangers performed very well in shootouts and overtime. Playoff hockey has no shootouts or 3 on 3 overtimes. In addition , teams will play to get the point in the final part of the third period. In the playoffs, they games are more physical and the referees tighten up the calls, so if you are a strong power play team, your advantage is diminished.

    It's about speed. Last year and this year they were out hustled. Yes I know there's passing and shooting but Florida not only best them to the puck, but surrounded the puck carrier with 3 to 4 players and the coach kept having them pass to the point to beak out---- but guess what---- the Panthers knew that. They could have tried flip passes or the trap like Florida did in one game. Now I'm afraid they can't find the fastest players who also have finesse . And how many of them can there be?

  • @moedean3342

    Rangers faced the 3rd easiest schedule in the league. So, the team was a bit deceiving. You have to build a team to make it to the finish line. Because only the team that crosses the finish line first is the only winner.

    The Rangers players are great. The problem is the Panthers players don't let any team look good (or use their talents) because they relentlessly attack the opposition before they have any time to do anything. You almost won every game. You were the best season team and the second best playoff team in the NHL this year.
    Plus, hockey is scientificly the most unfair sport in the world.

    Almost like you can build great teams when players flock to you because they do not have to pay income tax in your state. 5 years straight a Florida team has made it to the ECF. 🎉. Vegas, Dallas, Nashville are contenders every year and there is no state income tax. When will the NHL close this loophole? A player can make less money but end up bringing more home.

Also in regards to Adam Fox he now has not scored in 28 straight playoff games. Yes he is a highly skilled offensive d-man and I understand having them is very valuable but he has to be called out on disappearing in this way. He has to do more. As for Florida eh you said that they weren't really a fast team? What are you talking about? They got to where they are by improving team speed year after year. Anyway Rags fan ....
