Did you know Serato Stems is now built into the official mapping of the DDJ-REV7 including The addition of Stem Level (Stem EQ)? Update to the latest Serato version today!
Thank you for a very clear tutorial on how to map STEMS on the DDJ-REV7. This was mad easy!
That is one amazing piece of equipment! DJ gear has come a hell of a long way since the 70’s and 80s
great video, thank you - Stems is so awesome especially with the REV-7 too! WOW bring it on
Thank you so much for making this simple and easy to learn!!
YASS PLEASE 🙏 A TUTORIAL ON SCRATCH BANK FOR TONE PLAYING PLEASE 🙏 … Thanks!
It's sooo fantastic that Pioneer doesn't have to make a new hardware to get the stems on board... This is very Cleaver. Feel like the ddj rev7 is getting more juicer than it was already now I want to buy one. That person who created this hack should definitely be rewarded by Pioneer DJ.
This is mad. Huge thanks for such clear instructions!🎉
thank you so much! great instruction and excited to have fun with these functions! I am a total beginner and this was easy to follow and implement
Thanks for this. I was going to map it another way but I like the way you have it mapped
Excellent tutorial got right to the point, these days that’s a 💎
amazing tutorial. total game changer. thank you!
Awesome man!
Great video, PJ.
Love it! I did something similar, but I assigned the Stem FX to Shift+Pads 1-4. I also assigned Vocal to Slip and Instrumental to Censor for quick access.
That’s also a great idea!
Mind blowing 😮 Thanks Pri yon Joni 🚀
Have fun with the mapping!
Yes! This is gonna be awesome for gigs!
It’s great!
thanks for this video, u solved my question about it =))) greetings from switzerland
You’re the best bro
I put the Stem FX in the same spot, makes on the fly remixes and blends a piece of cake!
Some folks prefer it that way as well! Do what works for you!
Awesome video. Thank you!
Thank you for stopping by!
Thank you for this
Thank you , tremendously. I'm supposed to pick my Rev 7 manana
Thank you sir!!
Nice!
Nice remix of the Jake Terra track!
He’s a buddy of mine! Armin played his original track on ASOT
Fantastic
thank you SO MUCH!
No problem!
This is so cool to know, I may be a proud owner of a Rev-7 within two weeks which would be my upgrade from the Rev-1 which I really like. Now that the stems are out, will this work on the Rev-7? Also, since you can also use Virtual DJ with the Rev-7, will the scratch pads work the stems like it does with Serato?
Did you ever do the tone play tutorial using the scratch banks? If not, I'd be down to check that!
I dunno if I thanked you for this or not yet but… THANK YOU!!! This was/is so rad!! Great instructions and super easy to follow and apply! Do you happen to have this same (or similar) info for mapping an S11?
Tone Play video all day please 😎😎
Thanks PJ
No prob!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you @priyonjoni this is perfect. Do you have a video on Tone Play?
PYJ - Thanks for this. Followed it exactly and got it going. I wanted to ask when using Stems functions, why does the vocals and beats cut off in and out at times during play. I notice the music drops in the wave file. I think I know the answer but I wanted to shoot it at you for your input and advice. Thanks again for the video. Very helpful - props! 👊
Great video, I have recently bought a Rev 7. Are there any videos on how to save loops on this controller? Thanks
YASS PLEASE A TUTORIAL ON SCRATCH BANK FOR TONE PLAYING PLEASE … Thanks!
Is there a way to midi map serato efx on to those pads as well? I use those efx as well and would like to set that up
can the stem faders map to midi control or only for the control that has stem built in ?
Hey thanks for this; I just might give MIDI mapping a try. I do like that in Setup on the public beta, I was able to choose the Slicer as the place where Stems are baked in without any mapping required. But there are potential advantages to mapping the instant scratch buttons while leaving the hot cues on the pads alone. Will try out both ways. As ever, thank you!
MIDI mapping in Serato isn’t really that scary! The system is simplified and easy to remove if you mess up.
Please help I need to remove and do again @@priyonjoni
Great info, but can you do a tutorial on the tone play four songs at once. I'd definitely like to know more about that please. Thank you
Thanks!
Thank you!
Thanks again for another great video! Man, a lot of us who are considering upgrading laptops would love a video on what (Mac) laptops to consider for the new Serato update. I know you've just bought the Macbook Air M1, and I'm looking forward to hearing your experience on it, but I'm curious as to what are the minimum required specs for the new Serato update (Intel vs M1 chips)?
So far, the CPU usage of Serato stems is still not set. In fact, the public beta released today is seemingly more efficient than the first release. With that said, it seems to be panning out to be like this. This can change, but so far it's: Intel-Mac < Intel-PC < Ryzen-PC < M1/M2.
What exact MacBook Air and specs are you using? Can you send an Amazon link?
Great video, thank you!
Thanks
Yes, do a tutorial on tone play using that instant scratch section please!? Lol Thank you 🙏
Thanks for the video.... How do i midi map 3 stem functions (melody, bass, drums) to one button?.. Thanks
So I have you been doing any gigs with the MacBook Air and does it stands up to all that battering ?
I know it’s a different question, but I am thinking about purchasing either the MacBook Pro or even the MacBook Air if you can stand up of the night …
MIDI mapping is pretty much the same was just wondering if you have a video like this for the S-11
Yes for a tutorial with scratch bank and toneplay.
What laptop stand are you using?
Hi,
Could be the 33/45 buttons programmed to act like on any real turntable?
I was amazed by the rev7 having them, and tought it will open up the possibilities to the well known dmc-routines-like tempo changes, but its not.
Any idea how to add that extra 35% with a push of a button? (I know the 35% is good only at the 0% pitch value, and will differ on other values.....)
The 33/45 buttons behave exactly like a turntable. If your rotation setting in serato is left at 33; clicking the 45 button will pitch you up.
Those this work only on mac book? I'm using Hp laptop
Will this work with did-rev1 and separate midi setup? Or you must have Rev7

Great video. Thanks for sharing. I still have ddj sx2 because I could use it with pioneer or serato. I will try to midi map the slice pad once the serato software is out. Pioneer is falling behind, no rev7.
I used it on my slicer since I never used it, got the SZ2 as well
Video wish: DDJ-REV7 + djay Pro AI (iOS) mapping. Is it working properly? Can you map everything? Would love to use the REV7 without laptop (instead using Tablet or Phone).
My saved loop pad mode function isn't working to work the echo outs! Smh
is that the same professorbx from the skratchcon/ asisphonics/ ibc/ skratchlounge/worx etc forums?
Man!!! Your video was on point!!! Can you please do the same for the Numark NS6II? I'd be forever grateful!
I finally got my gold edition REV 7 so i'm all in your videos Pri. My 2018 MB Pro. works on my hard drive but, with Tidal it just spins then crashes even with the touch bar off HELP please.
Is it possible to create a button for Stems solo mode like on the Rev-5?
Double click the STEMS button, and it goes into stem solo mode.
Pri Yon Joni!!! Got a question for you brotha. Why doesn’t pioneer release an update to allow Combo Pad Mode on the REV7 like how the S11 and S7 can do? Is this something pioneer is thinking about or is there a place I can submit this request?
You already have a second pad mode on the Instant pad section. Instead of 4 of each, you have 4 up top and 8 on your mains. That’s more than combo pad mode can do.
@@priyonjoni understood, but on my S11 I really like having the top 4 as cue and my bottom row as my stems. I changed in the serato setting for stems to replace roll mode. That’s why I was curious on why Pioneer didn’t also add that to the REV7 since it’s their flagship controller
I have a Pioneer DDJ SX3 and was able to map successfully for STEMS but the pad lights don't work. It's stays on white, when I activate or deactivate STEMS. Please help if you know what am doing wrong.
Hello. No need to copy and paste your comment to multiple videos 🙂. Go into your Serato settings > MIDI tab. Select your DDJ-SX3 under MIDI devices. On the lower section, next to the Delete button, there is a box for “Enable Output Lighting”.
Sorry if this is a silly question but now that I've mapped the stems toggles to the SLOT/PAD buttons, does that mean I can't use the Sampler features?
That is correct. However, you don’t need to remap anymore. There is a new firmware and Serato version that not only this function, but Stem EQ as well to the REV7, a function that is not mappable.
Thank you! Just figured out that Stems can be controlled from EQ. Amazing.
Just tried to record a set on my SX2 and it didn’t record
Bless I hope all is well
I’m having a problem with my pioneer Rev7
every time I play a song the waveform skip need help
Sorry to hear. Have you contacted Pioneer DJ support? The support team can help troubleshoot your issue.
Just found out that my 2015 mbpro is not what Serato recommends to use STEMS for those who still have them what do you recommend, max out the 2015 or just get a new computer? $$$
Check out this MacBook buying guide here ruclips.net/video/sZyeazpWpe4/видео.html
Hi Pri You Joni…! I’ve try many times to instal the trial será to stems and has been impossible, do you have a direct link to download it…? Thanks
Instructions on how to join the beta is on this page the-drop.serato.com/announcements/the-best-real-time-audio-source-separation-technology-serato-stems/
How do you delete loops with out going to the laptop screen? For the rev7
Click auto loop
@@priyonjoni clicking auto loop will delete the loop on the square I assigned it to? I thought clicking auto loop just turns off the loop?
Does the rev 7 have buttons for dedicated stems?
No because it was released before stems was released for Serato,
@@priyonjoni Ok. Thank you.
Is there any way to do the same on rekordbox??
Can you do this on rekordbox? Yes, you can remap stem functions.
Will this work on the DDJ-REV7? No, the REV7 is not supported on rekordbox.
awesome brother! can you do this with Pioneer S9 & DDJ-SZ2?
Yes! Choose a pad mode you don’t use and map it to there.
Tutorial on tone play pad mode please.
Hola soy de Chile, habrá un tutorial suyo en español, por lo que se ve , es muy buena explicación
it will not work ns7iii it will map paid in all modes in hot and slicer/sampler/auyo roll
They should allow us to swap any pad mode on the Rev7. I never use saved loops 😢 swapping the slicer on the s9 is ideal.
Serato does. In your settings, instead of mapping, there is an option to swap one or more pad modes with stems.
@@priyonjoni you cant swap it to every pad mode on the Rev7, i want to wap out saved loops, but dont see that option.
👍🏽
Best regards friend, excellent video
I need help with the REV/ controller and the SERTA program, the Scratch Bank does not work, maybe you could help me, I thank you very much.
Greetings from Ecuador
You no longer have to do this mapping. The latest Serato version and the latest firmware for the DDJ-REV7 now have a default mapping for stems.
@@priyonjoni Dear Friend. Thank you very much for answering,
Do you know that the problem I have with the REV7 is when I load the tracks into the scratch bank, they don't play
they stay paused, the sampler buttons do not work
I have to press play, but it goes too long and I can't make it repeat by pressing the pads on the scratch bench
Maybe if you understand what I'm trying to tell you?? Might you help me,
I would appreciate it very much
Sorry to hear that. Might need to trouble shoot with one of Pioneer DJ's product specialist. I'll leave a link to contact the support team. www.pioneerdj.com/en/support/contact/
I don’t own a rev 7 show us on a pioneer ddj 1000
Map it to one of the open pad modes. The method isn’t much different.

Any updates on when the official release is for Serato Stem?
They typically don't announce when an official release is out. But a new public beta version just dropped to day, fixing many bugs of the initial version. Have you checked it out?
@@priyonjoni not yet. My computer is too slow to sample the beta versio. LOL
I bought it in Japan last week.Thank you. It's a dream-like feature😊
I wanted this device that I could control directly.
I use rev 1 never see any videos for REV 1.

Thank you so much got it !!!!! Have a great day...
When can customers expect SPLIT / STEMS in Rekordbox and hardware?, cause Pioneer need to "stem" up their game or it's over, this is a game changer like no other.
I'd rater have four faders for stem splits, than four channels and players on a XZ MKII. The possibilities are endless and if Pioneer still want to be the future king among "performers" not producers that only play 40 tracks at a festival and still need 6 CDJ 3K players, V10 mixer and 2 RMX 1000, something need to happen and fast, time does not wait for lazy folks.
XZ MKII, 4 channels, Stemsplit, onboard bay for SSD, and 4 USB ports, 2 is not enough by a long shot. And make the FX banks editable like the RMX 1000, Pioneer could have a plugin online store where people could buy different effects and be really UNIQUE. There are a lot of djs and performers that love hardware and do not want to include computers. Do no neglect us!
Peace!
