This is truly a beautiful church. Thank you Jacob for these wonderful videos. I enjoy taking this pilgrimage. Today was day 20 of our Lenten journey. We're half way to there.

Lovely contemplation of the crucified Christ. 🕊 Somewhere up in Perugia is San Damiano, and its famous Byzantine crucifix which 'spoke' to a whimsical rich lad whose name... I had forgotten Cosmas and Damian were twin Arab physicians who were martyred in Rome. Most people have forgotten that the church of Rome was esteemed also because it suffered most under persecution with its many martyrs, along with it being recognised as the See of Peter and his successors. (I believe 29 of the first 30 were also all martyrs.)

I love the Crucifix of San Damiano. St Francis of Assisi is my patron.
