Nope.
Hi
Hey simon, I just wanted to let you know (responding to your business blaze video about making a living off RUclips). I ALWAYS leave my tv on with RUclips while I go to work with one of your channels running, just so that your getting full ad/video views for whole 8-10 hour days + all I watch when I’m home. I hope it helps!
Reckful saved my life and many others; please do him justice
How about Biographics on Cassius M. Clay the abolitionist, and John Brown the abolitionist?

That has never been more accurate in modern history.

Thank you for making a video about her!
She was a person who inspired me to write a research paper about the „Matilda effect“ (a term coined by Margaret Rossiter). It’s a bias against acknowledging the achievements of female scientists whose work is attributed to men or erased from history. So thank you very much for giving her the spotlight and showing what a genius she is!
Feminist by any chance? What about the human tendency in general to fail to recognise the work contributed by others in a joint project to achieve a particular goal?
Simon Jones Yes, I am. That might have influenced me to write about that effect and its affect on our world. I could’ve written about the Mathew-effect or the effect of attention inequality. Both things that go in the direction of what you mentioned and both very interesting and important. I partly chose my theme, because compared to the other two effects there is hardly any research on how it affects us as an individual or as a society.
@@Simonsvids I'd say most people these days would agree that women and men should have equal rights, and are therefore feminists.
“Life need not be easy, provided only that it is not empty.”
― Lise Meitner
Excellent bios, concise & content rich. Presentations are very engaging and straightforward. Thank you for keeping history alive! 📚📖 🙌🏼
Well said!!! 🍻
Agree! I enjoy all of Simon's channels👍 He has intelligence, charm, charisma, and makes most content very interesting. I even subscribed to Megaprojects for that reason even though it's not something I would typically be too interested in☺
Shame on the Nobel Committee for not only the original oversight, but for apparently doing nothing to put it right in retrospect. Excellent video btw.
“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”

I think it is very stupid to marry your cousin. Einstein married his cousin twice. E=mc2
@@africanblondi3973 this is underrated joke 😂🤦
Here are my list of men and women I’d love to see covered:
Women:
- Margaret Thatcher
- Hedy Lamarr
- Bloody Mary (her tragic upbringing and how that effected her terrible reign is fascinating)
- Eleanor of Aquitaine
- Ching Shih
- Olympia
- Empress Marie Theresa
- Anna Ivananov (Real Life crazy ice Queen)
Men:
- Richard III (poor man deserves a fair hearing)
- Black Bart
- James I England
- King John (of Magna Carta fame)
- Woodrow Wilson
- Ernst Rohm
- Tokogawa Ieyasu
- King Piye
Aiki Kana me
Great suggestions 👍
thatcher? piss off
Lise Meitner is the Rosalind Franklin of nuclear physics. Franklin deserves her own Biographic since her X-ray crystallography of DNA was fundamental in the determination that DNA was a double helix molecule. However, instead the stinkpot James Watson with Francis Crick asked Maurice Wilkins to see her results. Watson determined from her pattern that it was a double-helix, and promptly implied that he found the structure of DNA while denying her the credit. He later wrote "Double Helix, The" where he derisively referred to her as Rosie instead of her name Rosalind. She had died earlier so she could not defend herself from how he treated her in his book.
This is my favourite channel on RUclips now. Watch about three of these before bed each night. Thanks for the effort.
“Science makes people reach selflessly for truth and objectivity; it teaches people to accept reality, with wonder and admiration, not to mention the deep awe and joy that the natural order of things brings to true scientists”
Lise Meitner
I love this episode, I'm actually engaged to a Meitner. I've heard stories of this great lady and to see her story on RUclips is great!
Lise Meitner split the atom, and nobody will ever disabuse me of that.
Boy was she screwed. You would think the Nobel Prize committee would have corrected their mistake by now but, no.
This has happened so many times with so many people.... One person getting the credit for the hard work of several..... One of the most famous example is Robert Oppenheimer- "the so-called father of atom bomb". Oppenheimer was just one of the several hundred scientists who was working on the Manhattan project. However, as he was the "so called leader" of the project he got all the glory along with the curses....
@Rappa Kalja
RE: "He got the "glory" for it because he is the one who was asked to lead the entire project, which he did."
J. Robert Oppenheimer did not "lead the entire project." He was the science director and the head of the research and development labs at Los Alamos, New Mexico. The commander of the entire Manhattan Engineer District (the actual code name for what history calls "the Manhattan Project") was Major General Leslie R. Groves.

It has happened throughout human history and continues to be the case. In every day life, people take credit for other people's hard work when they hire them to build something on their property. The ones paying to have it built often say "I built this ... "
Also very common in battles and wars too. You almost never know the names of the soldiers on the ground fighting, or the nurses, or supply crews, etc.
There needs to be a playlist of females. I didn't learn about so many of them.
He has a playlist of the women he covers on this channel. But not as many videos as one would like.
Angelita Becerra True though tbf I really like some of his choices. From a list about women I’d expect a whole lot on Queen Vic, Marie Curie, Austin and good ol’ Queen Bess. But he really has some more out there but fascinating pics like Noether and Olga of Kiev!
Thank you for 2 good channels, been watching nonstop for soon 3 weeks !
He’s got like 6 good channels
I was born on November 17th. I'm so honored to share a birthday with Lise Meitner
16:25 *barium and krypton (element 56 + element 36 = element 92 uranium)
Thanks for making a video of Meitner, had to watch it immediately.
I love watching the videos they make me feel smarter
This one was excellent 👍 I enjoyed this biography more than the last couple.
"Revolution" and "atomic"
Two words that should never be in the same sentence
some of these are writer so well there make me cry , well done when the movie
Thank you for bringing these unknow but great people to us.
Recently found this channel and I love it.
Simon this video was brilliant. Thanks so much.
I've been low key studying atomic theory in my free time, but not once did I hear about any of these physicists. Glad I got to watch this great video and learn about a greatly underappreciated pioneer in the field.
You have to do the Emperor of San Francisco... I know you have told me once before have a great reason for my recommendations. But I feel like, if you read his story… you will be eager to do his video
You should make one about John Von Neumann!
I loved this video, ceep up the great work!
This is a great well deserved video. I'd also love to also see a video Maria Goeppert Mayer and Marie's daughter Irène Joliot-Curie, both of whom are amazing women who are little known today. Everyone knows Einstein, Heisenberg and Oppenheimer, but they were FAR from the only names.
Mr. Simon, you deserve the Nobel for the Internet if there was such a thing! I am 52 and must humbly admit that I have never heard of this woman before today!!! And I consider myself fairly well read and somewhat of a science and science fiction geek; Ive even been watching so many RUclips videos on fission, how nuclear bombs work, the Manhattan Project, and the like, and NO ONE else until you have mentioned this woman!!!! Thank you for all the great videos!!!
A school in my town is named after her
Simon's Squarespace plugs make me want to invent a reason to create a website.
Thanks for great videos - Please do one on H. C. Ørsted :)
1:40 - Chapter 1 - Overcoming bias even in youth
6:25 - Chapter 2 - Climbing the ladder through the glass ceiling
8:10 - Mid roll ads
9:55 - Chapter 3 - Lisa Meitner & Otto Hahn
17:35 - Chapter 4 - Unleashing hell on earth
Simon! Do a Biographics on Sally Hemings!
Simon I love your content, I've watched almost every video you've made, but I have to ask, why does a 21 minute sponsored video need four ad breaks?
Nuclear physics is so fascinating. It brought the dawn of the atomic age and the atom bomb - which overtook the Halifax Explosion as the largest man-made explosion in history!
“Otto, you have no idea of Physics. Let’s go upstairs.”
- Lise Meitner to Otto Hahn
I will not stop asking.
*Please do a video on the Civil War General William T. Sherman: Hero or War Criminal(Title Suggestion)*
This was awesome.
How frustrating for her to encounter all that bigotry. It makes me angry to think about it. Still, at least she got recognition eventually. Great video.
I was honest with my daughter. I always told her she can do anything a man can do mentally.
You are so right.
Theoretically yes, but only if she has the mental capacity to do so. It would be wrong to say she she in particular could be a great philosopher for instance, unless she was born with those particular talents. Same goes for a man or a man who is now a woman or a woman who is now a man!
You fun to watch when I'm bored
I think next biographies you should do is Ayn Rand
Would that mainly be about her life , or would it be more her effect on Conservative politicians in America and Europe
Since it's the International Year of the Nurse ans Midwife would you consider covering a few incredible nurses?
If so I would recommend Vivian Bullwinkle, survived a ship sinking, a massacre, a POW camp and was involved in Operation BabyLift.
I'd love to see one on the Kray brothers
Love the biographics! Any chance of one on Thomas Paine? Or some like...mini-graphics? A sort of 10 minute bullet pointy/crash course kinda biographic?
Had no idea she existed! Thank you!
More please!
I recommend making a Biography about Margaret Eleanor Whiting an American singer who was popular during the 1940s to 1950s
i think you should do one on mehmed the conqueror
Thanks Simon for making me learn about historical events.
Another great episode Simon. May I suggest mountain man Jim Bridger? Fur trapper, fluent in 4 languages, and he forgot more about native americans than we will ever know.
Also individuals like Joseph Smith and Brigham Young. The expansion of the mormon religion played a critical role in the expansion of the American west. I hope that you find those suggestions helpful to your channel.
Hi Simon great listening to your videos. Can you pls do a bio on Mary Seacole, she was a Jamaican British nurse who served in the Crimean War during 1854. All the troops admired so much they called her Mother Seacole, over Florence Nightingale. It marks the anniversary of the NHS. Best Regards from the UK
This is rapidly becoming my favorite channel of all you do, Simon. Kudos to you and the writers.
Loved the video, now please do one on Nelson Mandela.
Not sure if this is the right place but given the current events can you do a video on the Buffalo Soldiers who helped with the Big Burn? They didn't get nowhere near enough credit as the white firefighters did. (Even though it was the Buffalo Soldiers that prevented an entire town from burning)
Another lady Rosalnd Franklin made a great contribution for DNA discovery. She passed way early. Nobel committee did not give credit who passed away. What a shame.
I know that youve said before that videos like this don't get the views, but that's why they are the most important to make. Thank you and your team for continuing to teach and inform about these important women!
This reminds us that science is shaped not only by genius minds but also by kind souls like Boltzmann. You have my respect sir. Plank fu.
I really want you to do one of these about the Kray twins
No mention of Earnest Rutherford?
Make a video about Justice Bao, he’s one of the most famous judges in the world, bringing justice and order to ancient china, many corrupt bureaucrats have died at his hands
Well done Honor the women.
You should do a Biographics on Buford pusser the sheriff who was also a wrestler and a marine
Could you guys do a video on the Buffalo Soldiers?
the auditorium of my university is named after her, but I never looked into what she actually did, so that video was very interesting to me
I do enjoy these videos. Can I request one on Sophie Scholl? (Or did I miss it?)
great presentation, sounds like you care about her, one of the greatest women ever in science and morality. RIP, great one, worry not. Hahn? poor relatives they must so embarrassed to be related to him.
There's a lot of injustice in history, lacking of giving credit where it is due, all thanks to people who have a self-appointed superiority over others, and it continues to this day...
A hero that was not ment to be.
Can you do a video on Emmeline Pankhurst?
Ouuu you should do John Horse the Black Seminole !
Can you cover Mark Twain?
Hey, Simon! If you'reever looking to do another video on a Jewish woman scientist who was left out of a Nobel Prize that she should absolutely have shared, it would be awesome to see a video on Esther Lederberg!
Could you maybe do albert speer?
can you do James or Charles Stuart and the Jacobite risings
Request: Elvis. Yes, I know but seriously, he has a LOT of personal stories. And, he may've even covered tunes you didn't know he did.
As a start, when he was on Ed Sullivan, he wanted to sing Peace In The Valley... Something the crew of it didn't want but he did it anyway... Even if unwillingly on Ed Sullivan's part. I'm not the best at explaining it
Simon could you possibly do a Biograph On Lemmy from motörhead?
How about one on Max Planck
John Vincent Atanasoff next plese :D?
Kindly make video on Richard feynman.
Can you do your biography?
I wished she was in the movie Oppenheimer too..
Can you please do one on Timothy dexter? The man, the myth, the idiot.
When you'll come back to visual politik EN ?
She seems like a truly remarkable woman.
Oh how the world today could be so different if the history of women's contributions especially in STEM fields wasn't just swept under the rug for hundreds if not thousands of years.
Could you do David Bowie?
So happy you told her story. A travesty she was excluded!
I don't get why all of them were horrified by what atom bombs could do. It's not horrifying at all. It's a fast clean explosion that flattens everything.
Please do Charles Lindbergh!
Feminine handiwork! Nice one, Simon!
PLEASE DO ONE ON RECKFUL; he saved my life and many others
Please make a Biographic of Swedens Legendary Prime Minister, Olof Palme!
We got a pandemic, right? If you get the chance, could you please do a bio on Giovanni Bocaccio? (Author of the Decameron.)
Thanks.
There is also one german high school in Geldern, Northrhine-Westfalia named after her. Maybe even more, I'm not sure.
Do you, your writer(s), and your producer(s) ever sleep (or even slow down a little bit)?
Or are you secretly like AI or something?
@@113dmg9 He is a clone. There are at least 3 of him since he has so many RUclips channels.
@@christinebenson518 - Thanks for your confirmation. I knew something was up. He never seems to have bad or uninteresting videos... especially since Mary Poppins is technically the only "practically perfect in every way" person I'm aware of.
