Too cool. Like that sailor was encased in wood and you slowly released him back to life
Thanks Adam!
I like detailed work, you have shown it.
This is my absolute favorite format. It’s so relaxing. The detail is incredible. Personally, I wish you had a longer version I love it so much ❤
Noted! Thank you!!
❤
Incredible job! As old wood carver with 35 years experience I can still learn from the younger one👍
Thank you so much!!
Something so satisfying about watching cottonwood bark being carved. Your end all creation is always nothing short of Amazing. I love the pipe and the way you left the bark on the bottom left beard. 🙌🏻Bravo Alec! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much! I'm glad you like that little bark spot!
I can see the experiences that the sailor had, that's the ART
Thank you!
Woodturning is more art than photography. That photographer is full of himself.
Yeah, alot of photography is literally just using your eyes
WOW!! I gotta get some cotton wood bark.
Beautiful Alec ..Excellent facial structure and imagine ..Thank you for sharing
Thank you so much!!!
Super good 👌👏
Thank you!
👏👏👏The final result is great!
Thoroughly enjoyed it!
Very, very nice work, I appreciate your keen design sense and well-honed craftsmanship. I'm at last eagerly returning to sculpture and carving after a long career in television, and you've further inspired me. I mention television only because I can further compliment you with some authority on how well lit your videos are and how good your mic placement is -- especially for the wood carving genre! Being able to so clearly hear the wood shave off is priceless for gauging the pressure you're using, really feeling the density of the wood you're working on, etc. Despite academic training in sculpture and design, I expect I'm going to learn a thing or two from you. Thanks so much for making these videos and making them with care. They're a wonderful resource.
Really appreciate the encouragement! Especially from someone with your background! Thank you!
Amazing
Spectacular.
So satisfying love you hands
lol, thank you
Wow! Cool!
Awesomeness!
Fantastic Alec!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Brilliant , the detail is amazing . I’ve just been asked to carve a coal miner for a friend whose late father worked the mines . If it doesn’t work out I’ll just whittle a mole lol .
Thanks for the upload , learn a lot 👍
Thank you! That will be a fun commission!!
LO QUE USTED HIZO es una Verdadera OBRA DE ARTE y en tiempo record. BRAVISSIMO❤❤

hi, why do you prefer to use cottonwood bark compared to other types of wood? congratulations for your job
Thank you! It is very easy to work! Soft and holds detail fairly welln
@@AlecLaCasseArt io ho a disposizione solo legno di ulivo, mandorla , ciliegio noce o quercia, legni pregiati ma molto duri
Absolutely superb bit of work.
Very very impressive indeed great skill and vision and not a pencil line anywhere.
Definitely something to aspire to and maybe one day be able to achieve the same end result.
Question if I may 🤔 what type of wood are you using ???
Or is it one of those very thick barks that is like a wood ?
Any advice or help greatfully recieved. Cheers Les.
Thank you very much! It is just bark! Cottonwood bark!

great work ... love this guy .. the carving that is. Are you working from a photo or are you letting the wood talk to you?
It is a commission and the customer requested his father influence the face of the sailor. So I used a reference photo!
What wood do you use .
What kind of wood is that? Looks so soft or is your tools extremely sharp??
Both are true! The tools are sharp and the wood is soft! It’s called cottonwood bark.
Çok güzel.
Ağacın adı ne
You practice on clay or wood only?

Capitão do Titanic!

Glad to hear that!!
What kind of wood you use for this?
Cottonwood bark!
Hello,
maybe it seems a bit weird to ask: how do you fasten/fix your piece of wood onto the easel?
I screw the piece of wood to a plywood fixture and then clamp the plywood to the easel using 2” spring clamps.
@@AlecLaCasseArt thank you :)
What type of wood did you use?
I believe it is cottonwood
Amazing skill, what kind of wood is it, anyone, please.
Cotton 🪵
что за дерево такое мягкое?
Hi Alec I'm one of your subscribers can you tell me where do you buy your bark wood any web site plz 🙏
I have had good luck with BC cottonwood bark!
What kind of wood. Answer me.
Ma che legno è?si può sapere?
What kind of wood are you carving here? Your chisels must be uber sharp because it looks too easy!
It’s cottonwood bark!
What is going on with that wood. Ive never seen it cut and break up like that
It’s actually bark, cottonwood bark
Made that look way too easy.
Thank you!!
You have fabulously artistic carving skills and the guy has just the character and expression needed. I was thoroughly enjoying the watch and looking forward to the finished product when the video ended abruptly. What's the idea of that? I feel completely cheated! In future please either finish the thing (preferably painted as well) or warn us in advance. I WOULD have subscribed.
Thank you Ray! And sorry you felt that way! The carving was finished by the end of the video and I don’t paint carvings very often but that may change in the future! Thanks
Old treebeard
Very brittle wood. I’m not familiar with
Cottonwood bark
Can you put your weed in there?
