I was closeted most of my life and lived through MANY of the issues that faced Tony and Segundo. This series touched me so deeply. So nice to experience an uplifting storyline!
Plenty of people will complain about the extremely slow buildup (I most definitely have). But that slow buildup gave us one of the greatest endings to a gay telenovela storyline ever made. Lots of folks will say that Tony was extremely naive, or that Segundo was extremely harsh. But what I see is a romantic in Tony, and somebody with the weight of an important family name on his shoulders. Some people will state that Tony was too loose with sex, but I saw a character that didn't want anybody to ever feel uncomfortable or sad, and the person he MOST wanted to feel GOOD AND LOVED was Segundo. He may have had a few one-off's along the way, but he did it so the other person would feel better and leave him alone. Many people are going to complain that it took WAY too long for Segundo to come out, even though almost every other character knew, and I am one of those people. It took wayyyyy too long, despite his own wife saying it was okay. However, as mentioned before, he imagined that the entire family name would be torn to shreds if he came out. It was only because he realized that his family name meant nothing, that he was able to finally embrace a better and easier life than before. This was a great storyline. I will admit it. Sure, sometimes I was wanting to wring the necks of a few characters (mainly parents, blonde slut, and douche brother, and sometimes even Segundo), but overall, it's splendid. The only times I wanted to strangle Segundo was usually due to his constant refusal to admit his love for Tony. However, the actor played the emotions perfectly. He really played a great character that has to go on a rollercoaster to defend his family, career, and brand. It was the greatest moment when he finally comes out. And to see a gay happily ever after on a telenovela is fun. Because you're rooting for the couple the whole time. No, I have to say, although there are flaws with the pace of the storyline, the ending justifies the means, and I give the story of Segundo and Tony 4.5 stars out of 5. If you have the time, it's a must-watch!
Thanks for your comment, Juan Minujin (Segundo) is one of my favorite actors and this was his best character, he won the Actor of the Year award for this. You have a very interesting vision. Thanks for sharing.
Walt Walters Very nice review of the plot and storyline but , although I agree with you for the most of it I must say that they should have given us more passion and romantic moments as a compensation for dragging that awkward situation too long. They barely kissed, everytime they met Segundo was slaping Tony or he was telling him mean words, Tony was always having sex or making Segundo jealous . They gave us a cringey and lousy spa day together which was more awkward than romantic and thats it. I felt like something was missing all through the series. I felt a bit disappointed , I must admit. When a plot /story is this complicated it usually compensates with a bunch of tender moments between the main leads and here there were none. I loved their first (and practically only , except for the wedding) kiss and a few more scenes that didn’t culminate because they over exagerated with the interruptions. So yeah, we diserved more ! lol
@Jo Well, I must say I liked “Botineras” better but since this one was sort of a road opener and a revolutionary product for the 🏳️🌈 themed stories in series and movie it was alright..And the fact that it ended with a wedding was fantastic.

Luego, colgué en seguir viendola porque se me hacia muy denso el resto de las otras historias que estaban en la novela, los otros personajes me importaban nada.
