Anytime I don’t wear makeup, “are you sick? Why is your face so red?” It’s absolutely obnoxious. Thank you for this video.

Omg yes! If I dont cover my cheeks- "Are you feeling okay?" "Are you sick?" Also happens if I dont wear mascara becuase my natural eyelashes are.light blonde almost white. So everyone thinks I'm terminally ill. Hence Why I ALWAYS wear.makeup. even around my own house

I watched this video yesterday and I wanted to say THANK YOU!!! I started getting rosacea in my early 20's now I am almost 40. I have tried several foundations (all walmart/drugstore brands) and nothing has helped me. Yesterday I went to Ulta, sat down with a beauty lady to find my perfect shade and decided to bite the bullet and get a "quality" foundation over the cost effective one. I purchased the Murad Inviblur Perfecting Shield that you put on in the video and went with a Lancôme foundation. I am beyond impressed!!! I work in a prison, never been one to wear makeup at work but am quite embarrassed with a red face so I hide it all the time. I told my husband this morning after doing the Murad that my face felt so smooth. Then I did the foundation and could not believe the difference. No redness and am looking fabulous. Simple elegance with just a touch of mascara put me in such a great mood this morning. Once again.....thank you thank you thank you. You seriously just changed my life.

I'm 18, & I completely feel you on leaving the house & having people say things to you about your face.. I have an autoimmune disease that makes my skin super blotchy & red (about to the extent of yours) & I've had people ask me if I'm sunburned during the winter.. 🤔 but I've learned to love myself despite my red skin ☺️

    • @amandamckevitt629
      @amandamckevitt629 6 лет назад

Can I ask what autoimmune disease you have? I was diagnosed with Dermatomyositis two years ago and it affects my skin and muscles. It gives my skin a blotchy red rash everywhere, and makes my muscles sore. I’ve found that Neutrogena’s mineral powder foundation works perfectly to even out my redness. But honestly I usually go without face makeup daily because my husband loves me without makeup. But anyways I rarely find people who have autoimmune diseases and deal with the same things as me, so I’d love to hear what you use!:)

Omg finally someone who can help me. What you said about RUclips is right. I’ve been searching sooooo many videos on how to cover my red skin but they’re either lightly red, some acne, smooth red skin etc but my face is exactly like yours. It’s RED, dry patchy broken capillaries and the way you looked at the beginning of the video. I want that look. Beautiful natural looking skin and I’m in my 40’s so yes I’m subscribing and looking forward to more videos thank you.

I am still in high school and I have had rosacea since elementary. My mom has rosacea too but she did not try to help me until high school when my dad noticed that it was bringing my self esteem down. I hate going to school without makeup on since my friends would constantly ask me if I was sick or they would call me a strawberry. It was horrible and I still have trouble forgiving them for saying such hurtful things after I told them to stop. I started wearing heavy foundation until I ended up with an infection on my nose due to the makeup and my nose was COVERED in pimples and scabs. Thank god it was during the summer. I switched to a lighter makeup and I was wondering around trying to figure out what to do when I came across your video. Thank you so much for your help! It’s reassuring to know that someone else shares a similar experience to what I had.

Not sure if you've seen a doctor for your rosacea, but I found out I had it in my early thirties. My dr, rx'd a gel called Metronidazole (Metrogel). Super light on your skin, and it has kept my rosacea under control for many years. It saved my skin and my confidence.

Literally almost cried watching this. I'm on prednisone for health issues and it makes my face bright red !! Tonight is my hubby work Christmas party with all of the beautiful skinny wives haha....then theres me with my tons of extra weight and bright red face from the prednisone ! I'm so exited because i love makeup but haven't even tried lately because nothing Looked good. I cannot wait because i have everything you used (not same brand for a couple of them but same stuff ) and I'm just so excited !!! I love doing my makeup but it was never worth it with a bright red tomato face ! Thank you so much !!! My hero lol !

FibroJL fellow prednisone chick over here! I actually go on and off of it due to my autoimmune disease, but at my highest dose, I started at 122 and got up to 170! I was 170 lbs the day I delivered my son so you could imagine. Have you tried any of the green tint color correctors? There are so many out there!! I have also been wanting to try IT cosmetics (the one she mentioned that she said that she thought was underrated) bye bye redness. I know this is late, but I hope you are feeling better!!💋

I'm a qualified makeup artist & I have a similar redness problem. Believe me, I know your frustration & it's more difficult when you're qualified, as a part of you keeps thinking that you should know how to correct this, but what do you do when nothing works on you?? I keep experimenting with different combinations of products. You've done an amazing job with covering it up - it doesn't matter what other people say or do, what matters is what works for you & gets you the results you're looking for. I have used & done some bizzare things to get the results I want. Limited thinking gives limited results. I'd really like to know which shade of the True Match that you're using, if you don't mind please, as it hasn't been listed. Good job - be proud of yourself!

I thought I would have to use the cakey foundations again, and I was just dreading it. I finally got fed up and my nine year old showed me this video. So today I tried how she applies her makeup, and my redness is covered!!! Thank you so much!!! Seriously, you saved me!

I enjoy seeing a "real" make-up tutorial like this. Being a pale ginger with red undertones and blemishes it's hard to find make-up tutorials or products that remotely apply to my skin. Most brands porcelain colour is still too dark... Thank you for the video!

I totally get what you mean! I'm not embarrassed by my red face anymore because I'm used to it, but having people pointing it out all the time - even well-meaning people -by asking questions or trying to make helpful suggestions gets old... Because it just brings attention to it over and over again. I have that "roughness" too, that you describe, and I'm over here trying to find a solution - watching videos and reading make-up how-to's - and I can't help thinking "makeup only seems to work for people who don't really need it." I can't cover my redness because the rough patches of skin stand out so bad when I put makeup on... People will point it out because they're trying to be helpful - but it just proves my point. If people who are standing at least 5 feet away from me can see how patchy my face looks then is it really better wearing makeup? I'm going to have to try these products though! Fingers crossed it works for me! 🤞

Thank you !!! This foundation is great. I started using this along with new skincare products from Avene. I am 49 and its been 6 years since I began experiencing red hot flushing in my cheeks. Until this videa, i was using calamine lotion on my cheeks to calm the heat and reduce the pimple like bumps. Apparently I have hypersensitive skin that I thought was rosacea. I've used Clinique 3 step since 1989 and started Bare Minerals original powder foundation in 2000. I cant use the clinique soap or toners and i still love bare minerals but I had to try this. Ive used it for a week now and it covers amazingly well and does not feel heavy. I recently received a compliment on how smooth and wrinkle free my skin looks. I highly recommend this foundation for anybody ...I use it with my bare minerals full face brush. FYI...I use the same color as use. XO

I know this is 3 years ago but the first thing you said about people mentioning the redness is what I deal with as a cashier every single day from every single person and it's always the same thing. "Looks like you got a sunburn!" Or "Been out in the sun a lot?" I literally reply with "no, it's just my face." And they look at me confused and kind of off put by my answer. I agree with you, it just gets so frustrating to hear that over and over and trying to explain what rosacea is ... It's easier to just conceal and move on. Let me live my life people, I am well aware my face is red! Lol. Love your video, helped me so much!

I've been struggling with rosacea since I was about 6, and since then people have always thought I was sick or blushing, kids noticed it and without meaning to they'd be a little cruel as about it (making me more conscious about it) and even now if I have a bad flare up people I see daily still comment, and I know they mean well but it breaks my heart every time its brought up. I hate being seen without and for years I've been trying to find coverage that works, I've tried all the medicated creams, I use the 'full' coverage foundations that cost the earth, it's gotten to the point where I am now seeking laser therapy BUT tonight whilst looking a different reviews I came across your video and I'm so excited to try this as an everyday for work and stuff, thank you so much for sharing 😊

You are beautiful 😊

I don’t have tons of redness, but I do definitely have it on my chin. No matter what liquid foundation I use, within three or four hours my red chin is glaring through.
I’ve never tried mineral powder foundation before because I am 50 and I have dry skin. I thought powder foundation would be more likely to accentuate any winkles, or dry skin texture. However I am going to try at least using powder foundation on that chin, and then maybe my whole face and see what happens. I was heartened that you said you had dry skin And that powder seems to work wonders on your skin. Thanks so much for sharing!

I have keratosis (almost whole face is really red) and a few keloid scars on my face, skin is really dehidrated. I am 33 and half of my life I am using Revlon Colorstay for combination and oily skin. I tried so many other fundations but always returned to Revlon. I always use good moisturizing face cream before fundation (for me the best face cream on which Revlon sits perfect is Afrodita Hydra Patch for normal and combination skin, which is Slovenian brand). I don't wait for cream to dry on my face but I put Revlon immediately. I put 3 layers of fundation: 1st layer on my whole face just like the face cream, 2nd layer on red parts and 3rd layer is just to cover the red edges, like finish touch.
I do the whole process with my fingers only, because I don't want to irritate my face. And my face look perfect, so smooth, you can't see redness!
For skin care I use Skintegra producs (Croatian brand), they are wonderful for sensitive skin.
I hope these tips will help someone :)

Your make-up looks great!!! I was glad to see that you didn't use one of green foundations to hide the redness before you used your mineral foundation. I have tried it and all it does is dry out my skin more. However, I have more issues than rosacea...sun damage, dark spots that use to called "freckles" and wrinkles! Putting on make-up can be a real challenge! Thank you for the make-up tips.

Absolutely understand! I have had eczema on my cheeks since I was born. It happened due to an allergy from the hospital sheets. I scratched, so I have scars and the redness is environmental, so it will never go away. Some days are better than others. And makeup never completely covers and the redness always comes back. I like a natural look and hate when it looks painted on. Plus, it accents the scars and fine lines on my face! :/ Thanks for posting this!!!

Girl: why are you wearing so much makeup?
    Me: where?
    Girl: there's so much blush
    Me: I'm not wearing blush...
    Girl: oh honey

Domonyque Mitchell people need to learn this thing called tact.... most lack tact and it just blows my mind the things people think they can say to someone else… I have problems again and I have had problems skin since I was a teenager. During my teenage years I had cystic acne and that is when I learned how to pick and pop my pimples and it became an obsession. Sadly it’s something that has followed me into my adult years… Not the cystic acne but the need to pick at and pop things on my face which is now related to my stress and anxiety why I do this. Needless to say a lot of times my face has scars and scabs on it, And my upstairs neighbor will flat out asked me “what’s wrong with your face!?”… And it catches me so offguard and I get so embarrassed and upset that I make up some lie that I then can’t defend because it’s a lie anyway. I usually say it’s eczema and hoping that the conversation will end right there which it doesn’t because then he’ll start saying we’ll go to the doctor they’ll give you something there’s stuff you can use for that… When in fact we wouldn’t even be having this conversation because who the hell has the right to walk up to you and ask you what’s wrong with your face?! There’s so many other ways you could ask someone that even though you shouldn’t ask someone that… And it modifies me every time because it’s something I’m already embarrassed about. So even if you happened to be wearing a boatload of make up why would it be someone’s place to ask you why you did it? It’s not anyone’s business and I’m still blown away by the fact that people make other peoples business their own business. And I think we should all start practicing telling people to mind their own business! I’m sorry that that girl was rude to you. You didn’t deserve that!

Wow! I went out and bought the mineral foundation and a good primer after watching your video. I am stunned at the coverage. It was far more complete and natural than anything else I've tried. Thanks so much for posting an honest video!

I have the same skin issue! And it’s like so hard to find good makeup that will cover all the redness. This video was amazing thank you so much! This definitely is exactly the same as my skin and now I know what works.

Jens World hello Jen. Man o man I believe I have rosacea. My daughter has it and she wears IT cosmetics. I would love to use the mineral powders like you and my daughter use but I'm 54 years old and powders make me look cracked and dry. Do you know if we can using setting spray after the mineral powder?

Thank you thank you thank you as one woman who suffers from rosacea to another. I get comments too when I go out in public without makeup. I only have it on one cheek, and I've had several people ask me if I was punched in the face. I know what you mean about it getting disheartening. This is so helpful! Bless you.

You're so beautiful with or without make up. I'm so glad you made this video. I have been trying to cover up my redness for years and I haven't found anything that covers up my skin all day. I'm going to look into the products you've used, fingers crossed they do them in the UK 🤞 xx

Thank you so much for the video! I have red skin all over my body due to a side effect for a medication that I need to be on. It always bothered me that I looked like I have a sunburn. I don’t mind walking out with makeup but I hated having my picture taken and seeing my skin. I new to makeup so this is very helpful!

Thanks so much, great video! I have been suffering with the same skin problem for many years and have been prescribed by my dermatologist with all these harsh astringents thinking that its just acne. It was only recently when a new dermatologist said its rosacea. I am so excited to try and get this foundation tomorrow. God bless.

Wow great job! You are beautiful. I suffer from rosacea and have always just not worn makeup because I didn't know how to cover the red. I figured what was the point in doing all that work if the red was still gonna peek through. I accidentally stumbled on this video and I am so glad I did. My condition has really progressed to the point I really want to start to learn how to cover it up. I am so tired of hearing wow you really got sun burned. Thank you for making this video.

Thanks so much for your video! I have lupus and some days my mylar rash or butterfly mask is very prominent. People will say "Wow your sunburned!" Or "do you have high blood pressure?" Uh no. I'm okay. Or they just flat out ask you "why is your face so red?" Thanks so much for this info its appreciated!

Finally. Someone who has the same skin problem I do. I've had red and dry skin since I was a baby. I've never had normal skin (or acne, thankgod) but everybody thinks I'm always sunburnt. But when I get sunburnt on my face, it hurts like hell.

Im struggling with rosacea for 40 years , ive tried everything, so embarresed when people ask me why im so flushed. I used to say, oh ive have cold, then they would just leave afraid they might catch something. I never new so many people struggle with this , and you cope just fine! I love this tutorial, you have beautifull skin, rosacea or not. I was wondering, how does mineral powerder work on a skin that tends to be dry and flacky in some ereas . I do prepare my skin well before make up , but the dry skin still shows.

    I have a question...
And, as one who has redness around my eyes, why do you use eye shadows in pink/red tones? I stay away from pinks near my eyes because of redness. I also have runny outside corners of my eyes which makes it worse. You are SO pretty!

Thank you SO MUCH for this video! I know I’m late to the party (by a couple years), But in recent years my skin has been changing so much that I can’t use any of the products that are used to use because they don’t work anymore for my skin. I’ve started getting texture on my skin and I’ve developed very red and splotchy undertones… And of course my dark circles have darkened! I finally understand what I can use and how to achieve something that’s natural and pretty for my skin thanks to you! I really enjoyed your video especially the dramatic music you inserted when you showed yourself without make up made me giggle 🤭 So happy to have found this xoxox

Thanks for the video. Nashville girl too, that helps. Before I forget, love your room.
Well, I have learned something about R during the last 4 years that I never knew. I always thought it was something people were born with, and then grew out of…….wrong. I am well into my sixties, and it hit about 4 years ago and got worse.
The old face, wrinkles, and craters aren’t enough, I had to develop R, which has been getting worse. Glad u had something to say about texture as that has caused me to practically stop make-up. I feel the make-up makes the bumps worse. I search out anything I can find about it. I will use some of what u showed. I wonder if it will work as well with my other issues. Maybe I’ll look as young as you.🤓

Hi! I enjoyed your video ☺️👍🏻 i was just wondering if this powder foundation does not dry your skin? I had this problem with bare mineral powder foundation. I like powder foundation better then the liquid ones but i guess i am doing something wrong cause afterwards my skin is more irritated and mostely after a while it dont feel comfortable on my skin. Can you give me an advice to solve that problem? I am Not someone who wants to spend hours to put layers of makeup on but If its a quick thing like this i could do that 🙈

thanks so much for this vid! i tried the fenty beauty foundation and it was the perfect color, it dried so quickly i didnt have to wear powder (lol), and the finish was so velvety and pretty- but three layers still wasnt enough to cover my blush! i have lupus so i frequently get the so-called 'butterfly' rash, and while it doesnt get bumpy like others, a super-saturated bright red blush staining your entire nose and cheeks... aint a good look!!
