    I still think shaving our 2-hour talk to a bit over 2 minutes is so, so impressive. Thanks for having me play interviewer for a little bit!

    It feels nice to be reminded of the importance of having to communicate through music. The concept of "technique amplifies Musicality" just gives you a whole variety of ideas to ponder upon

    What a great video! I haven't given this much thought about the idea of musicality until now so thank you for tickling my brain :)
    From dancers, instrumentalists, and singers... this must've taken a lot of time. Bravo 👏
    I'm gonna spend too much time thinking about this topic if I watch this too much haha

    A seriously amazing video! I would say I am still discovering it for myself but I always thought of musicality to stem from interpretation (and I am kinda restricting myself to piano here), which in turn has many facades. But this really gave me new points of view that I would never have thought about otherwise. Thanks for the incredible work Watt!!

    Great video. I appreciate how it was really was all-encompassing to what music means to every kind of musician. Dipping into so many genres that I was not really exposed to was an eye-opener.

    i’ve always wondered this. thank you so much for giving answers (to everyone) of your opinion on these.
    personally musicality (to me) means to communicate in a positive and accurate manner, that actually influences people to understand, feel, imagine, touch, taste, and see the power and inspiration that each composer or musician is trying to send out.

    I think Fonzi makes. a really good point. Good musically is not just play with emotion, it involves technicality as well. If you don't have it, you can't actually play certain musicallity e.g. using the weight transfer etc. Like for example, playing deep rich chords. Not sure about music theory. I think some people do think that way, but others don't hahaha.

    Fruit makes a good point about the 'live', 'stage performance' and 'story aspect' is also part of musicality! A lot of good points are made by a lot of wonderful musicians!

    Imo there is a different set of skills for musicality when it comes to arrange. For example, you can make original cadenzas/solos in the middle of a cover song (I do that e.g. in my Medley and some other covers). Then in this case, it is your creativity that drives the musicality whereas you don't have that with playing other people arrangement especially classical music.

    Absolutely amazing video! It's given me a lot to think about music and what I want from my arrangements that I will make, eventually (hopefully).
    Never felt sadder at missing the premier ;-;

    Totally awesome and fun to watch congratulations! All interesting and talented artists pondering the points of musicality which to me means a form of artistry. Classically trained , to me it means that it must be felt as an abstract means of communication in a good way. Meaning successfully conveyed to the audience. Musicality is an intrinsic quality of artistry. Thank you for a fantastic video.

    @HalcyonMusic, what do you mean by 'anime music has more room/freedom to work with [musicality] but at the same time not?' I am very curious as to what you mean but 'at the same time not' lolol Don't leave a cliffhanger lolol. I am very curious.

    • @andremarques1088

      Halcyon said that Anime music gives you more freedom but at the same time gives you less to work with..

    • @HaydenPianoCovers
      @HaydenPianoCovers 3 года назад +2

      I actually had a similar idea as Halcyon, but it isn't shown here. I don't mean to put words in anyones mouth or assume, but my thought at least is that most classical music has more variety and emotional texture and storytelling than most anipiano arrangenments, giving you more options.
      But anipiano gives you more freedom because there isn't the historical precedent of hundreds of years of top performances and interpretations of each piece. Just my thoughts.

    The comparison of someone that don't know the language but can pronounce the words and someone who don't understand musicality was incredible
