How would have been the Cold War if Germany had won WW2

- How would have been the Cold War if Axis had won the Second World War? Let's suppose that after Pearl Harbour Germany and Italy don't declare war on USa and the war in Europe ends in a stalemate in 1946.
Now there is a Cold War between Axis, Allied and Soviets.
What would happen now? Who would have been the first man on the Moon? And Taiwan, Korea, Cuba, Middle East, Vietnam, what would have happened?

the fact that an armistice happened instead of one side surrendering makes this scenario a whole lot more interesting
Also a lot more realistic. An invasion of the US even with nukes is flat out impossible.
@@spartanalex9006 Same for the USSR. Those are the only two countries in the world where invading them is improbable at most.
@@lelouchvibritannia4028 China, Afghanistan, Switzerland, Iran as an example are either equally hard to take or even harder, also because of their geography.
@@Janoip Uh, no. I don't trust anything you would say with that username. Iran? Same as Iraq. Would be a little hard, but eventually, they would cave to the US. Chinese tech is garbage, and their soldiers are entitled poorly trained soy boys. Switzerland is an awful example, but Finland would be improbable.
@@lelouchvibritannia4028 Then look at the geography and strategies of these countries and you will understand why none will take them permanently.
And China at the moment would be a country that even the U.S. can not take, because above are desert, Mongolia and Russia, in the west mountains and desert, below jungle and mountains, etc..
But never mind, I don't feel like writing it out in detail, but here's a video that touches on the whole thing.

@Arnab But UN SC is made by ww2 victors on allies side, they even hesitate to make CCCP to join, Comunist china was not original member, then you had US, British, France (wich was quite questionable in its state), CCCP and Nationalist China... In alternative timeline, i would quess Hitler would like there Germany, Italy, Japan and? Brazil, Argentina, India? Idk. I would think, that Reich would rather focus on some kind of Union as EU and Commonwealth, even throught war Germans build infrastructures over the europe in dominated nations, they would like keep influence and boosting partners economic to feed self back with larger trade, i wont be even suprised when in alternative reality Germans created something like Marshal plan, not only to restore war damage but to boost entire regional developement.
@@JakubNaceradsky it would be the end of civilization as we know it. Nothing good about it.

16:27 finally, a good timeline

Personally with a Pacific focused USA, I'd expect the Chinese Nationalists to have been given much greater US support and with the USSR at a stalemate, I'd see the Maoists being much weaker. The USSR'S invasion of Manchukou resulted in the Japanese and puppet forces' equipment being transferred to the Maoists, which didn't happen in this timeline. Plus with greater US focus on the Japanese, perhaps Chiang could have turned on the Maoists and break the United Front. We could then also see the Marshall plan build up the Pacific as the new bulwark of democracy and capitalism, which would in turn greatly stabilize the KMT. Perhaps we'd see a Pacific Treaty Organization with the US, Canada, Korea, the Philippines, Japan, Nationalist China, Britain, Thailand, Australia, and New Zealand. I'd also see much conflict over French Indochina, with the US advocating for independence and the Vichy demanding their colonies back which would give the Axis a foothold in Asia.
I think they did it like that so the USSR didn't loses / had an ally that would be able to help them fight a two front war.
I don't think Hitler would have made a peace deal anything like this or the British.
Personally I see the USSR and Germany having a peace deal at lest temporary maybe 5 to 10 years, maybe a few more at best.
Germany would probably start a massive breeding program for the next war.
Most of the Baltic, Belarus and Ukrainian would be under total occupation by Germany or there would be no peace.
I'd say the British would have surrendered later on without american support or given in to Hitler's planed alliance, especially once the USSR made peace.
At the end of the day without the USA, or USAF bombing campaign and a decrease in lend-lease would have given Germany an advantage even if there was a stalemate I think It wouldn't have lasted longer then 1 to 2 years and the German's would probably be back near Moscow and the Caucasus oil field's.
The majority of USSR production that out produced Germany only did so due to lend-lease/ the ability to give up other areas of production to specialise, like 40% to 50% of the USSR truck's were american made, but 90% of it's locomotives so trains, carts, railway lines as in the steel for the train to go on was american made in the war, somthing the soviets would have to convert back from other areas like tank production.
The Americans keep about 12million Russian feed in the war.
Lend-lease wasn't war winning alone but a drastic decrease and no western front very dangerous in my opinion.
@@brianlong2334 but I think US would have upperhand in Asia. The video owner is a German nationalist so he gave Germany as most advantage in his scenario as possible. If it was real, the US would not sit quietly and see Germany sphere countries, US would help the Nationalist China to atleast stalemate the war since Maoist is weakened, Japanese war would be ended much faster. US would definitely be the winner of the Vietnam war since the North doesn't have weapons support from USSR so US and China would win the war. India situation might be hard to predict since Soviet is not so strong in this timeline. But Pakistan, Indonesia, Egypt, Israel, former British colonies, South America, and all of South East Asia would follow USA. Sonin short term, Germany kight hae upperhand because they have all of Europe. But in a long run, with better Democratic system, better potential economy, US and its Asian influence would win the war in long shift considering how Asia was so strong in the modern time.
@@brianlong2334 Hitler respected the British and absolutely loathed the Soviet Communists. It would be the opposite of your scenario.
@@peterthx Did you even read what I said... lol
I don't really understand your comment to me... You do know the Soviets and German's worked together at the start of the war, they also even talked about the Soviets joining the Axis, they made proposals to each other about what they wanted and who would get what in Europe and the Middle East ect.
@@brianlong2334 Hitler ONLY made the deal with the Soviets to carve up Poland. Once he felt he had control over the Europe situation he invaded the Soviet Union. It's fact and history. This is one of the best alternative history scenarios I've seen. I'd thought about a three-way Cold War such as this before but this is far more detailed than anything I could come up with.
Honestly if Nazi Germany did survive it was probably the most likely scenario. A Cold War between the USA and Allies, USSR, and Nazi Germany.
its one of the worst, because its unrealistic. Theres no reason the west would agree to pro german europe indefinitely. German manpower wasn't infinite.
@@Blake4014 That's true. Roosevelt and Churchill wouldn't let one drop of blood in America or the British Empire go unspilled if it meant letting a powerful Germany exist.
However its not very accurate. There is no way Germany would've let go of Netherlands and Belgium. In his eyes those countries where Germanic nations and the Dutch/Belgium ethnicity didn't exist, therefore these countries should unite with Germany (hmm, sounds familiair to the Ukraine-Russian conflict) Having full acces to the Dutch ports was really important for the German industry as well since it necked them during ww1. Switzerland would also be annexed for the same reason. The Germans never tried it in our timeline because they knew capturing Switzerland would be a pain while Switzerland itself wasn't a danger.
Ukraine would've never be independent. The USSR would've never let go of Kiyv for cultural and population reasons (cuz the Russia part of the Sovet Union would be to small, they definitely needed more to remain a superpower), and Hitler didn't want a independent Ukraine. There is a reason why Canberra got imprisoned by the nazi's. So they would trade different land away to the Germans. Maybe they would give more land to Finland while keeping the Kyiv region for themselves, the rest of Ukraine/Moldova would be 1 bufferstate.
Spain would in this timeline most likely annex Portugal since Spain had nothing to fear anymore. Maybe they would adventure into Marokko and try to build their little fascist empire next to roman-Italy and nazi Germany.
Lastly, Italy would either be able to capture way more land. Lands that are hardly needed for both the Germany and Italian industry.

I doubt that germany would keep launching from Peenemünde for long. With or without Wernher von Braun on their side, it wouldnt take them long to figure out that you want to go as close to the equator as possible when launching rockets (You save a bit of fuel when going close to the equator, as you get more starting velocity from the earth doing so, plus it has a number of practical advantages), so they would eventually start building up a position in southern bavaria or even in austria, maybe even try to convince italy to let them build it in their colonies in africa. (This is also why the US launches its rockets from southern Florida, even though Florida isn't exactly a very industrial area compared to, say, Chicago, and why the Soviets launched their rockets from Baikonour, even though it is in the middle of nowhere, far away from any majorly industrialized regions)

The best way I can imagine an alternate Cold War is if Operation Sea Lion succeeded in September 1940, knocking Britain out of the war more than a whole year before the US joined.
When the USSR was invaded, I imagine the war lasting a further couple of years.
When Japan finally attacks Pearl harbour the Third Reich decides not to declare war.
Around 1943 / 1944 the USSR would collapse. And wether or not Japan wins against the US remains to be seen. (Probably not).

As always Zvallid you've done a fantastic Job your the best! Also more like Japan got their ass kicked harder than in our timeline!
The only real part of this scenario I question the realism of is the use of atomic bombs.
While I can see the plausibility of using more than 2 bombs on Japan in the event that the Empire refused to surrender, we have to consider some things:
The Manhattan Project was started in 1939, 2 years prior to the U.S. entry into the war in our timeline, and 3 years before its entry in this one. However, despite this, it was explicitly intended to be used on Germany first in response to the rumors of their own nuclear weapons program, which never came to full fruition. Plus, the project leading up to the Trinity test was a joint collaboration between the U.S. and U.K., with the U.K. needing to approve our use of the bomb before we dropped the Little Boy on Hiroshima. The U.K., with U.S. approval, would have likely used the bomb towards the end of 1945 in runs on German-held territories and cities. Even if the U.S. never goes to war with Germany, as in this timeline, I question the likelihood of them only using the bomb on Japan. The only reason this happened in our timeline was because the conditions of the period allowed it to happen. Germany and Italy were defeated and Japan was the last Axis state left standing. Plus, the Allies were exhausted from island hopping in the Pacific. Nobody had any real objections to using the bomb outside its original intended purpose.
Other than that, very interesting scenario.
6:56 why does this looks like Hollywood movie super villain’s palace?

As Margret thatcher said: "If Europe had been neutral the nazis would have won, if the world had stayed neutral the Soviets would have won."
Meaby I missed something or misremembered. Sry
Indeed, europe lost
@@zvallid they didn't lose... Europe didn't stay neutral that's why the British empire intervened!
If Germany waited another five years before going to war it would have been a totally different world today .
“The US could use its full might against Japan” drop 9 nukes on japan and ends the war in 1946.
I mean the nukes I agree with cause their war crimes were horrible
Ok, what this comment meant was how did the U.S use 9 nukes and ended the war in 1946? THEY USED 9!!!!
It's only a war crime if you lose 😉
@@DUSTKILLL got a point lol
Why didn’t they use it on Germany
Every single nations soldiers, did horrible warcrimes in the war, but the winner gets to shove it under the rug, while the loser gets exposed to shame them into submission for years to come.
@@ChiipGames japan didn’t even pay for there war crimes the US just let it go
Germania looks like a city planner nightmare.
Something tells me he is not a fan of the UN.
You mean the american way to controll the world?
Who is? It's a globalist/colonialist project that's hostile to race, ethnicity, culture, the sexes, and sovereign nation states.
What I wonder is what the hell happened in the Polish border negotiations. The Nazis would definitely push for being allowed to annex large border strips, (just google ‘Nazi Germany map’. I can see the allies protesting this annexation, but I don’t think anything would actually successfully be done about it. And in the East Poland keeps a lot more land than seems reasonable, given the fact that this land could be given to a much friendlier to Germany Belarus and Ukraine.
i like how ever diffent timeline japan always lose
It’s December 7 1941 not 1942
Thanks lord for another video!
Very interesting. It is all quite intriguing. It does leave out what the US would have done having invented nuclear bombs and the means to deliver them first. But it goes to show history could have unfolded in many ways. We are very fortunate.
The Germans would have been the first on the Moon, they already had the Rocket Science. USA and Russia would not get that from them so they would be late. I don't think it would end in a stalemate, the UK would have failed at some point allowing them to put the bulk of their forces on the Soviets, crushing them with Japan from both side.
I think that in this cenario the USSR would have become a mixed system even before China itself and allied itself with the west to counter the Axis, so It would probably survive until this day
This should be the after math of the video what if the United States joined the axis
yes
