he's right though ...see ya'll are only focused on one thing he said , he then asked for the Pentecostal, COGICS and Apostolics to intercede on their behalf "so nobody gets left out of this next praise." It doesn't always have to be negative. Coming from someone who suffers with an illness I can't consistently make it to church every Sunday. No one should be offended by what E. Dewey Smith said. Especially if you dig into the history of each denomination. He referenced Azusa for a reason. Azusa is where the shouting and praise breaks basically originated. Not all denominations engaged in such forms of praise. He's not knocking them. But I don't want the rocks to cry out for me! I was raised COGIC and I don't do a lot of shouting, but it's all good though!
I think most of the people who commented missed the whole point! It was not an offense to anyone, but an inclusion of everyone, regardless of their religious traditions. Someone will always find something wrong with something someone said or does. He was making a point to include everyone. Nothing racist about it. And me being a musician and having been to certain churches, he wasn't far off base. But if you are certain denomination/religion that typically doesn't do this, but can dance, then go right on. No one should be offended by what E. Dewey Smith said. Especially if you dig into the history of each denomination. He referenced Azusa for a reason. Azusa is where the shouting and praise breaks basically originated. Not all denominations engaged in such forms of praise. He's not knocking them. But I don't want the rocks to cry out for me! I was raised COGIC and I don't do a lot of shouting, but it's all good though!

I think most of the people who commented missed the whole point! It was not an offense to anyone, but an inclusion of everyone, regardless of their religious traditions. Believers and doers of the Word are the only ones mentioned in the bible. PRAISE IS COMELY to the SAINTS ! Be a Believer regardless of what Denomination you find yourself in - or NOT!
