My dad was a huge fan of this band. We would sit and drink a coffee and hang out listening to their music. He passed away a few months ago. He would of loved this. Listening to this , makes me feel closer to him. Incredible band as always. Xxx

We can feel Ev's Origin, Fallen, The Open Door and self-titled eras, plus the Broken sessions, b-sides and unreleaseds all mixed; Amy is giving us everything she's already done before adding many refreshing rock and industrial masterpieces. they really redeemed themselves with this song too...well, with this whole album. i like it. i hope the other albums in the future are just as great and brings back the things we missed that are back in this album. it is a catchy tune as well.

She's so incredible. Always is. I always just feel her voice has to be so much louder because the other instruments drown her out. I always feel for her because she holds her own, but her vocal chords I'm sure could use the break once in a while. This should be mixed better. She deserves that.

Not going to lie I've listened to this more than I can admit and I really like it. They've finally delivered the heaviness I've always imagined they could have. I could totally imagine a new style of music videos with this album, no more Goth themes or underwater scenes. This has such a grunge, heavy, rough sound that makes me see the band in a post-apocalyptic setting. Would seriously love to see that.
Agreed. You can really hear their Korn influence coming through now. Guitar sound is the best I have heard from any band in 20 years.
Does anyone else think that this song is about her early years of being in the band and also their first manager that she fired due to sexual harassment? Because I remember her saying in several articles how a lot of people, both inside and outside of the band, tried to make decisions for her and take advantage of the fact that she was a young inexperienced girl in a predominantly male field back then, and how The Open Door kinda reflected some of her triumph over those hurdles. And once I saw the first two verses of this song I immediately thought of that.
I honestly would love it if they released commentary for each song on this entire album so that I could know for sure! But I want to know about the other songs too because a lot of Amy’s songs have interesting and intimate stories behind them.

Love the edginess and the darkness that this song feed us! Definitely deserves a decent music music video.
This reminds me so much of old Evanescence and I love it for that. Amy's voice is just immortal at this point. The mixing is definitely an issue though; I want to hear her vocals with instrumentals in the background, not the other way around. If that's fixed, this would be their best song in years (if not one of their top ones overall).
I thought it was just me! You really have to listen to hear her amazing voice! Would love for the instrumental toned down just a bit!

Something needs to be done about that mixing... Amy's voice is and always has been the defining feature of Evanescence, and honestly... probably the biggest reason for their success. All complaints aside... ON REPEAT ALL DAY

100% agreed. And like, I love the instrumentals too, but there are parts where I'm even struggling to hear what she's singing. Honestly even if just the volume on her voice was raised a few knotches it'd be perfect.
Stop complaining about the mixing! It's the way they want it! It's just different...but it is awesome! Other metal bands has that same kind of mixing and that's what they were looking for... metal/grunge/underground kind of sound... it's awesome!!!!

The comments on here annoy me, saying that this song is finally an Evanescence song, infering that the others were not up to standard. Obviously you people want exactly the same type of song over and over again. If that’s the case put Fallen on repeat and listen to nothing else in your life. I'm 60 years old this year and I love Evanescence I think that group is great especially Amy Lee is the best vocalist female I've heard in a long time. Not saying they aren't others it's just Amy Lee captured my heart by the way she puts out in a singing. I think it's pure true and gets to the point of the song. I'm a big fan of all genres of music. We don't need to agree or disagree but great music is great music no matter which way you put it. That's the great thing about music it can be so different to so many people with the same to others. And for those commenting on Amy's voice being too low: consider it might be an artistic choice, not a mistake. Heavier songs generally have less loud vocals to give space to the instruments kicking in. I know we are not used to this considering Ev's songs but we have to remember that this time Evanescence is finally an independent band and they don't have that pressure to be "pop". "Pop rock" songs have very loud vocals. So we're kind of biased to like that more.
We fans know that Amy is pretty much a perfectionist about her music and she is also a great producer. I really don't thing she wouldn't do this if it wasn't the intention. Also, Nick, the record's producer, is one of the best nowadays. Actually some people could have the same complaints about Halestorm's 'Vicious', another Nick's production.
And for the record, one thing I don't like about Fallen is exactly the fact that sometimes you can't hear a lot of the textures on the background because Amy's voice is too loud, and that's why I really loved Synthesis: we could understand those songs from that perspective.
I'm pretty sure TBT will be a heavy hard rock album with a lot of clever artistic choices.
