STUNNING Organic Vegetable & Flower Farm on an ISLAND!

- Farming wasn't something Stephen Williams imagined himself doing, but after 10 years behind a desk, he got the itch to try something different. The itch landed him on Whidbey Island in the middle of the Puget Sound northwest of Seattle where he and his wife Amy own and operate Foxtail Farm-an organic 10 acre mixed vegetable and cut flower production. Soak in the beauty of the Pacific Northwest as you watch how Stephen has turned Foxtail Farm into a viable business just by selling to fellow islanders.

I am going to be on Farmers Friend one day.
I live a ferry ride away from this farm, would love to visit them soon!
This series is so inspiring. Someday I was to be a successful flower farmer!
Neat. I live just around the corner from them and have bought stuff from them before. They really do have a beautiful spot! I can see where our farm is in the distance.
Living the dream! It's beautiful.
Love it!!
I find these videos both inspiring and heartbreaking. I love that someone has built something so beautiful for them and their community, however the cost to attain something like this now is almost impossible for anyone under 40.
I would be willing to point you in a few directions that could make this happen for you. I don't sell anything. Propagation is a way to start. You grow for yourself. You learn that and you can pay for this by selling some to others. From there you can go many directions but always do a few to minimize risk. Believe me your youth is still an asset.
Thanks Farmer's Friend for bringing us the incredible stories of these other Farms. It gives us so much motivation and helps us expand our knowledge!
Great looking farm we need more of this type of organic growing, not less.

Are those end walls from Farmer's Friend? They don't look like any of the current offerings from FF....
I don't believe. I was admiring them, as well.
@@christophercasten3801 The end walls were built using lumber and barn door hardware

What is all the spraying for if its organic?
There is such a thing as organic spray.
Spraying is a method of application. All sorts of things can be sprayed from organic fertilizers to compost teas to biodynamic preparations, and of course, compounds that don't meet organic certification standards.
I was spraying certified organic hydrolyzed fish and seaweed fertilizer from Neptune's Harvest. I foliar spray weekly up until the first harvest.
What backpack sprayer is he using
That's the Petra Tools HD4000 battery powered sprayer. I have one and it's awesome
