Great attention to detail These details aside, this trip clearly proves how much dedication to cover far away spots there is with Kappa-san. Travelling six hours one way to see a former silver mine and a miner's town? Now that is the stuff legends are made of. True dedication to the art form of travel diaries!
This is a day trip. I left Shin-Osaka Station at 6 am and arrived at Iwami Ginzan around 12:00 pm. On the way back, I took a bus at 4:50 pm and arrived at Shin-Osaka Station around 11:00 pm. The stay time is quite short, 4 hours and 50 minutes, but in my case I was traveling for the purpose of shooting, so I managed to go around even if I did not have enough time, but if you want to enjoy sightseeing slowly, the hotel I think it's better to stay at. I think it's a good place to stay around Okayama Station, but I think it's also a good idea to stay around Izumo City Station, which is close to Iwami Ginzan, and go sightseeing with Izumo Taisha. Izumo Taisha is a god of marriage and is a popular tourist spot especially for women.
