    Wow. This car is actually in good condition. If I weren't on the opposite end of the country, I might actually buy it for myself. Nice, reliable Japanese car.

      +Tommy Siro not exactly. if anything catalytic converter issues on the pre refreshes. these post refresh altimas were pretty solid sedans. the V6's had more issues.

      TheK24Kyle I beg to differ. I had a 2.5 and had all of the maintenance done on it regularly and on time and it still blew a head gasket. I was sad to get rid of it but it was too expensive to fix and not worth it.

    My good friend has one of these with a 5 speed. The manual is not very good but the rest of the car is decent for what he payed for it.

      +ER B (hondaftw1234) I have driven the stick variant. weird numb gearbox but it's pretty zippy. clutch picks up really fast too.

    • @hondaftw1234
      @hondaftw1234 8 лет назад

      +TheK24Kyle he payed $2200 for it with 122,000 miles. I'm 90% sure it's never had a transmission fluid change and it needs to new shifter bushings. It's open headers now too lol. Maybe I'll see if I can get a review on it.

      +MrSadOnion after 2004 Nissan corrected the cat issues.

    • @MikePDaTruth
      @MikePDaTruth 8 лет назад

      Incorrect. This wasn't fixed until the fourth-generation Altima that launched for the 2007 MY. All third-generation Altimas from MY 2002-2006 were plagued by the cat issues, and subsequent high oil consumption. I should know...I had to fork over nearly $3000 to correct this on my 2005 2.5S.

    I personally wouldn't buy any Nissan product with the QR25DE. These engines do a wonderful job of destroying themselves, and they aren't built to be durable, long-lasting engines.
    I owned a 2005 Altima 2.5 S. At around 75,000 miles, the catalytic converter was damaged. What happens is that the damage catalyst substrate gets sucked back into the engine, scoring the piston rings. Sentras from this era with the QR25DE (I think it was the SE-R and SE-R Spec V Sentras) had the same problem. It's a very faulty, poorly-engineered motor.
    My opinion is if you're looking for a midsize sedan from this era, go for the Accord or Camry. If you like the looks of the Altima, the VQ35 used in the V6 models is pretty reliable. Just steer clear of the 4-cylinders.

      Unfortunately, Renault cheapened Nissans Vq v6 too. Timing chain problems, oil consumption issues and sensor issues. Big $$$$$$.

      I had a Nissan Altima for 5 years run great same model. Don’t know what ur talking about. Maybe it’s the owners.

    • @rmhj8100
      @rmhj8100 5 лет назад

      Bryan Hernandez It’s not the owners. I babied my car and it still messed up. All of the services were done in the correct time length. The 2.5 is just a bad motor. You’ll see if you have a 2003-2006.
