    Hi!
    Thanks the video, it very useful!
    I did a very big mistake, I used the tensioners L shape pin to lock the flywheel when I want to reassembly the crank pulley. The little L shape pin does not fix the flywheel and somehow it falls to the flywheel in the transmission housing.
    Is there any way to remove it from there?
    I didnt see it under the car and didnt hear anything it just disappear when I pull the crank pulley bolt.
    Thank you very much!

    • @dailyhandsdiy
      @dailyhandsdiy  22 дня назад

      Thats a trouble. Should have used thicker allen key to lock. One way is to remove starter motor, use a flexible magnetic holder and try to push it to the bottom of the housing. if lucky it gets picked and if not, you may want to take the gearbox out. ☹️

  • @dav3yuk

    Great job. I've got to do this on my 1.4 TDCi Fiesta but I have to replace the front crankshaft oil seal so need to remove the bottom pulley completely. Is there an alternative way to lock the crankshaft without the pulley ?

    • @dailyhandsdiy
      @dailyhandsdiy  Год назад +2

      Hi there, you can remove the pulley no worrys...just lock the flywheel remove the crank bolt and remove both pulleys....toothed pulley has tapper lock. Pull it out, replace the seal. make sure the timing ring stays strong attached to the toothed pulley...and put the pulley back and tight the bolt. Now remove the flywheel lock and set the timing locks accordingly. rest shows in the video.

    Yo bro, do you have any advise of how to clean enginebay, and under the car for oil (vw polo 1.2 TDI 2011). It is dripping oil underneath the car, and I want to clean the car to see where it comes from.

    • @dailyhandsdiy
      @dailyhandsdiy  2 года назад +1

      hey there bro, normaly ppl prefer waterless cleaning for dust and small oil spreading but extreme oil leaks spry diesel in pressure cans towards the engine bay or specific spot. As diesel wont conduct electricity you are safe with the wiring. Let it soak for some time and spray some petrol in pressure can. Try avoiding the petrol over flooding over orings or seal areas as petrol can react with rubber and lower the oring's life. This will wash away the oil concentration. just start the engine idle for 5 mins so the fuel residues will be vapourised by the heat. Now drive and look for the fresh oil leakage.

    • @dailyhandsdiy
      @dailyhandsdiy  2 года назад +1

      Normaly oil leaks from cam or crank shaft oil seals, oil cooler seals, vacuum pump orings, valve cover seals, ccv pipes or fitting, turbo housing and mostly the oil pan gasket or sealant.

    Wen to change timing belt kit after how much kilometres?

    How to identify whether the timing kit needs to be changed or not ?

    • @dailyhandsdiy
      @dailyhandsdiy  2 года назад

      Its actually a preventive service at 1 or 1.2 lk kms. There's no particular sign. And sometimes you may hear a rumbling or screeching noise from timing side if the belt is hardened or the pulleys fail.

      Hi it seems, you have done it with misaligned timing. If the timing misses even one teeth of belt, the car wont start. You may have to redo everything keeping the timing slots in place and make sure to rotate the engine 10 times at least and check the timing marks.

      can the timing be corrected by redoing the whole thing?

    !!!the flywheel is to be locked all the time when setting the timing or only to unscrew the pulley and screw it in!!!

    • @dailyhandsdiy
      @dailyhandsdiy  Год назад

      It should be locked all the time and only be removed after belt instalation.

    Is it really need to change the tensioner while changing the belt?

    • @dailyhandsdiy
      @dailyhandsdiy  2 года назад

      Its not necessary but as a preventive its changed. You could just wiggle the bearing or pulley and see if it has any play. if its tight and has no play, it should work good.
