Excellent documentary! As a petroleum engineer studying at The University of Oklahoma I can say confidently that the topics covered in the doc hit close to home. Dr. Engelder's interview was very well done and covered a wide range of topics in a logical science based way. I hope that his comments will not be misunderstood or misinterpreted by people who mean well but do not have a technical background.
I do have one comment. Induced seismicity is primarily associated with water produced from a formation that does not require stimulation (hydraulic fracturing) in northern Oklahoma. That play is the Mississippi Lime and is described by some in the industry as a 'water field with a sheen of oil'. Massive volumes of salt water are produced from this formation along with the oil. It is the Oklahoma Corporation Commission's belief that this is where the offending water comes from (however as is often the case, this can not be definitively proven right or wrong)
I loved the documentary and I hope that one day we can work together to insure that the O&G industry is held accountable for its impact on the world while still improving the quality of life for humanity.

Is there a version without the background noise?I would not call it music.

There have been earthquakes in Pennsylvania a few days ago. The people in this video act like responsible and successful men who know what they're talking about, but really, they're more akin to a heroin addicts desperate for a fix and prepared to do anything to get one, but then, the world REALLY does need more plastic doesn't it?

"Perceived contamination". The expert here, does he get paid by fracking interests?
"Methane is non-toxic so just fine to drink".
People know there's methane in the water when their house explodes. They may never know they're also drinking lots of acetone too.
Under high pressure and temperature, normally immiscible organics can be made soluble enough to be "in" the water.
You know what would be a great alternative! "Clean", "Safe" nuclear energy, because the sun doesn't shine at night, or something? Right? Holy crap, the "expert" actually said this, not realizing Tenerife uses solar and gets electricity 24/7 how? True, they're smart, but they just use day time energy to fill reservoirs, and us hydroelectric at night. I know "duh" right? Can do the same with wind. Tidal and Geothermal are constant, slap them on the grid and good to go.
We "could" be smart too, if we'd turn off AM radio and stop buying the same schtick the oil industry has been pushing, and will keep pushing. Seriously, we do not need ANY more plastics - there is so much plastic in landfills that could be harvested - or we could just RECYCLE but yes, this does not put money in the oil CEO's pockets. Regardless, the claim that we need more fossil fuels to make more plastics is ridiculous.
Permanently poisoning our drinking water is a better idea than this? Creating permanently deadly radioactive waste that *cannot* be safely stored anywhere - is better than this? Anyone who thinks nuclear energy is safe, take a look at the world. Notice any nuclear plants or uranium mines affecting anyone adversely? Let's agree to just drop nuclear from the list, we're just not that stupid.
Wind, tidal, solar, geothermal, the problem with them is nobody can profit from them unless they're building wind turbines, solar collectors/cells, heat exchangers/turbines and water turbines. Wait, I think this means there's 1) money to be made 2) literally, completely clean unlimited energy and 3) an ignorant voting population. So maybe the only problem here is people currently getting reeking wealthy from fossil fuels are the ONLY reason we should NOT pursue renewables? Ya think?

      Ill be brief about this.
      You are emotional, not knowledgeable.
I work in an engineering company where we design energy infrastructure including renewables.
It is not simple. It is a very complex problem. Just saying 'use storage for night time' is so, so far from reality you cannot fathom.
Pumped hydro is suitable in a tiny amount of locations. Wind and solar locations are limited as well. Battery storage is not actually good for storage. Its for grid ballast... i could go on.
Basically, the conspiracy that oil companies are holding back renewables is rubbish.
Private companies and government incentives drive the construction of generation and transmission capacity. If it is financially viable, a company will push to build it. There is money to be made.
Basically, you are ignorant of the technical challenges and the reality of the situation.

You are right, but no one would elect him because they were so worried that he was a "communist". Ever since McCarthy, we have been so worried about communism. Everything and anything that went against the interests of the American Oligarchy, against the graft, against the exploitation of labor, against the rape of the land and our common natural resources got the label "communist" slapped on it.
The disruption of crises, like Covid and the war in the Ukraine are exploited to their full extent, so that the same rich mf-ers can continue to f*ck the American public in the ass!
(I do not mean to imply that these crisis are false crisis - just to be clear. I only mean that their distractive nature is exploited to its fullest extent.)
If there are REAL COMMUNISTS in the USA now, it is because conservatives and (Ass-)Trumpets created them.
