After watching this video, I started switching to Heikin Ashi once I enter the trade as it moves in one direction strongly and keeps me out of exiting the trade early and also helps in determining trend weakness and strength. As a swing trader works well for me trading on higher time frames. Thanks Arty

I rarely see a HA candle without wicks - what I see more often with trend change (and true across multiple time frames) is the formation of the traditional Doji. Link that with an approaching support resistance line, seems like high percentage of wins. Same on exit, HA candles become shorter (at least the body does). Link all this with your favorite indicator (MACD, etc) and again, high percentage of correct calls

take care back testing this. the two trades as shown in the video are almost impossible at the entries shown. as some one else pointed out, when the first trade is switched to Japanese candles the entry is on the very top of the wick, you're not going to be able to guess that live trading. The second trade isn't even touching the Japanese candle, your entry would have been higher up and therefore your profit margin smaller. Heikin Ashi candles never really show the actual price at any point they are a formula. really good for showing momentum. really awkward to back test. You'd be better demo trading Heikin Ashi strategies. I don't doubt Arty's strategy works, but your back test will give you false confidence if you are using the start of the Heikin Ashi candles as your entries.

I'll go live with it today but with one tweak, I've added the Ichimoku cloud to the HA chart, and I have split screen of both the 15 min HA & Jap candles. You took a trade on the second HA candle opening, but considering the fact that HA candles do not show the actual price of the traditional candle, how can we enter at the price level you showed us on the video. Because, the opening of the 15M candle was below but the place where you placed the trade was at the highest price of the candle. Could you please explain on this brother..!?

Nice strategy, however your entry in the example at 2:33 is not correct and requires perfect hindsight like its the case here. Your entry would have to be a lot lower as you can see in 2:43. There is no way you can predict the peak of the candle and enter it with a perfect limit order. The TPSL you presented here is a lot better RW than it actually is. The risk reward is more 1:1 than 1:3 in this example.

The problem in your back test is you draw getting in on the next HA candle, but the actual market price by definition is no where near there. When you switch back to regular candles to do the stop loss and profit target, the entry price is invalid.
Great content, appreciate it. The other video (the other one of yours - on Heiken Ashi) you said not to even think about using these types of candles for scalping with a 39 foot barge pole, and nothing less than a 1 hour time frame. Yet here, you are suggesting we do. I understand the difference in price might be massive and cause problems for small scalps, but I guess we can always monitor both types of candle, anyway. I assume that's the only reason you suggest not to use these Ashi candles for scalping? It looks like a really simple and effective strategy, with really clear entry and exit points. Big fan of the HA candles. That said, the opening of the next HA candle is NOT the actual price so wouldn't it make sense to look at the regular candles *before* you place your trade?
I was wondering how you do riskmanagement? You sell or buy and once in the trade you setup a SL and TP. But with riskmanagement you have to calculate a position size beforehand, how would I do that when you don't have a SL/TP yet?

I use Heikin Ashi from some time, and as you know, because of his calculation he don't show the real price, and we can see in this strategy in japanese candle, all of the entry of all the trade you showing is not entry on the right price, so the ratio is not the same. At 3:50ish in your vid you say, take the first bullish candle, I think you mean bearish candle? You're pointing to price action that just rejected off the 50 and has started to produce no wick red bearish candles. Love your vids
