Thank you both of you for the details. I have a question, I submitted my master thesis in March 2024 but I have been working full time since January 2024. I applied for a Blue Card in March 2024 and I was told the same old rule of allowing parents to stay 90 days in 180 days. But I don't think that's the new rule if you apply for a Blue Card in March 2024. Can you please clarify this point? Thank you
Thank you for the information 😊. I have a question as well, does this mean my parents can stay permenently with me or its a visa that makes them to stay with me for a temporary period.
Thanks for this info Jana. This law seems like what many companies tend to do...not give enough hikes to internal employees but offer exhorbitant hikes to new joiners. I am sure as HR you know what I mean. Lol. I hope there are some petitions which we can make to enable this also for current residents.
There is a big confusion between resident permit and resident title. The entry visa is not a resident permit and as per the law you are required to apply for resident permit on or after March 2024.
Yes, the distinction is between a residence title and a residence permit. A visa is a residence title already, it is not a residence permit. As per our information the date of the first aquiring a residence title counts. Can you say where your information is from?
thank you very much for your info. my son will get his permanent residence this June and he is working and has a blue card since 2020- is it possible for me and my wife to apply for residence permit with the new regulations?
Thank you for this video! I just had my blue card issued in October of 2023. I am hoping to apply for permanent residency in the future. Is this new possibility of parent reunification available for people applying for permanent residency?
Unfortunately, it is only possible for people you will receive an employment residence title for the first time after March 1st, 2024. We have to hope that there will be another change.
@linusdhakal - I'm really sorry but unfortunately the Blue Card visa you first recevied already counts as a employment title. I'm sorry to give the bad news.
Hello, I have a question, I got employment VISA on March 1, 2023 and hence I believe I am not eligible to bring my mother. However, my wife was on dependant VISA since then and she is not working. My question is if she gets a job and changes her VISA to employment VISA, will she be eligible to bring my mother?? Thank you!
Thank you very much for this informative video. I have a question regarding the same. Currently, I have a blue card since 2021 and my wife has dependent visa. But currently she has got the job which is eligible for EU Blue Card. So if she applies after March 2024 then she would be eligible for this scenario. Can we bring our parents permanently on this basis? and is there any chance that this 1st March 2024 will be delayed?

He has applied for his blue card in 2024 but yet to receive it. Will he be eligible to bring me to Germany from Bangladesh?
Hi, Thank you so much for the information. A qs regarding the change of Visatype - Does it work if someone change their bluecard / workpermit (Issued before 1st March 2023) visa to Pernentant Residence or Citizenship. Will that still be counted under new regulation? :)
Having arrived on a family reunion visa in June 2023 and currently employed, I'm considering applying for a Blue Card after March 2024. Would I qualify to sponsor my parents in this scenario?
This is a good question. In theory, yes but in practise we will have to see how the authorities deal with it. I would certainly wait until March to change to the Blue Card and try to start the process.
